Hypnosis

I have never done this but my dad used to have to do self hypnosis with a tape he had for pain . He said it worked but not sure exactly how it worked . I think it would be kind of neat to have done and would love to go to a show where they do this to members of the audinece but always miss out when they have ever had any in our area because I only ever seem to hear about it after it is over .

Hypnosis does work. A very important part is to trust the hypnotist or not even be aware that you are being hypnotized. I used to teach hypnosis n the Arny (after hours) so that a person who had captured a prisoner could first hypnotize an interpreter and have the interpreter in turn hypnotize the prisoner. Yes it got a little tricky but it was something that had good success. You could go to a good hypnotist and have him hypnotize you with the post hypnotic suggestion that you would learn more about hypnosis. It will work if you want it to work. I have been using self hypnosis for my pains, I am disabled from work (retired after 30 years in the construction industry) and the doctors keep trying to give me pain medications but I do not use them because I have learned how to block the pains myself. Plus when I did use the meds one time they made me a zombie where I was not able to function at all.

I am now reading a hypnotherapy book. I am not finished yet but I really want to try self hypnosis. From What I read, hypnosis can be done if the 'subject' grant permission to be hypnotized or it is not against their basic beliefs. Actually I want to attend one of hypnotherapy workshop in my city but it's too expensive for me. So I think I will learn by reading some book. If you know any good resource for self-hypnosis, please share..

I'd really like to be hypnotized just to see if it would work on me and if it could really be done. I've always been curious about things like that. There was supposedly a hypnotist at my school once but I wasn't there for that event. I did though, have a chance to attend a 'mind reading' show. He was able to figure out things we in the audience had written down without looking at them and he guessed things that were totally impossible. I also know that it wasn't set up since my friend, who came there with me, was one of the audience members who took part in the act. I still have no idea how he was able to do most of what he did...
