How long has it been since you went to a dance?

I have not been in ages. I did last night, as part of my job as residential support for adults with special needs. We were at the State Track Meet. Those people are not inhibited, or self conscious, and we had a wonderful time, just moving to the music, regardless of our abilities and disabilities. We danced in circles, in groups, in rhythm, out of rhythm, out of step, out of our minds. Yes, they paid me to do this. Tell me about going to dances.

I havent been to a dance in years but also use to work with the disabled and loved putting on music for them. There is no hold bars and they have taught me not to be so reserved. Id love to go to a dance I just dont think they even hold them here anymore.

Surely somewhere there is a dance for you to attend. I know that sometimes there is a hold up, because of lack of partners or dates. I think that I should put more music on and dance around the house.

When you work with special needs it is usually very rewarding. They make the most out of little things. I'm glad you had a good time. We had a DJ at the campground over Memorial Day and we had a great time also.

To actually chooe to go a dance, never. My husband doesn't like dancing. I think it is lack of confidence. At his sisters 50th birthday last year, there was dancing to a proper band. My husband didn't get up until the last bout of dancing.I really enjoyed it, but I don't think he did. The last time I danced, was at my daughters 14th birthday last year. I keep dropping hints to my husband that I would like to go to a dinner dance, but I think it is falling on deaf ears. My 9 year old step daughter is a brilliant, natural dancer. How I would love to take her to auditions for the Australian Ballet, but they are not on a day when we have access. Now that I think of it, its ios my cousins 60th birthday in three weeks time & they are having a band at his party. I wonder if that means dancing?? I had better not tell hubby.

I won't tell him, if you won't. I hope you get to do a little dance. It seems like we need to modify as we get older. Have a wonderful time.

I just went to a dance a couple of weeks ago with my husband and a couple of friends . It was the first dance that my husband and I have attented in almost ten years and of course we never danced because my husband is uncomfortable and says he can't dance and feels like everyone is looking at him so we just sat there all night but it was still nice to get away for the night . It is so true that if we could let go of being inhibited to do something and letting go of the fact that we are self conscious then we would be able to have a better time in life .

I've never been to a dance. But I'd love to go just for the fun, even if I wasn't good enough to actually dance. : )

That is what is so cool. In that setting every one is good enough, no one makes fun of you, and you just let the music move through you, and move you. :)

Girl, it has been around 40 years. Hehehe. I think the Prom was my last dance. My hubby isn't into it. Even at affairs, he will not dance.

It has been awhile since I danced, I hurt my back around Christmastime and it is still bothering me so I have not ventured out in awhile, but every other weekend my boyfriend and I get out to listen to some music and there is always people dancing, he said he would dance with me if I wanted to and if I back was not hurting, but I enjoy listening the music just as much as dancing so I opted to not dance until I am pain free.

I think the last time I danced was decade ago, LOL! Right after I graduated from the University and went to work, I forgot all about dancing. You sure had a great time trying on dance again. If I'm getting too bored, I might hop in and dance again. I am even planning to take up some ballroom dancing but my time is too tight right now.

The last time I went to a dance was last year when my hubby and I chaperoned my son's Senior Prom. It was fun. We did some ball room dancing and learned right along with the kids.

Mine was soon to be 10 years ago. It was at my 10 year class reunion, and next month we are having our 20 year class reunion. I would love to dance more, but my husband does not enjoy dancing at all and we never go dancing. I think I danced with one or two guys from school, but the rest of the time it was just a bunch of us girls getting up and dancing together. It was to music that was popular when we were in high school, so we did all the old dances.

wow, you have a challenging but a very good job. i had been to a dance last 2000... february to be exact. it was my senior prom in college. hehe. too long ago. but i still can remember it. but last year, my boyfriend, when he visited me here in the philippines hummed a song right before we were going to sleep and took my hands and dance with me on the sofa. it wasn't that romantic for some maybe... but for me, it was so so romantic. just me and him dancing to his humming voice.

I love dancing of any form. I can dance all by myself at times, but formal or just a local dance is wonderful. What I love most is to really dress up for a huge ball-gown dance, get a new dress, shoes go to the hairdresser and spend extra time on my make-up. There I'm a very girlie kind of gal, and to dance with your husband in a tuxedo really feels great. Even a local dance is as enjoyable, mixing with friends and just in general have a good time! Ompha!

I haven't been to a dance in about 25 yrs, but it is funny that you ask. I just got off the phone from someone asking me to chaperone the school dance at my sons school~ so I guess I will be attending a dance soon.

That sounds like fun. I am glad everyone enjoyed themselves. In our church we had dances for adults and the youth. I went every saturday since I turned 14. Until I turned 18 and had a baby. I have not been since. I miss it alot. It was part of growing up. My husband misses it too. We don't have the ways and the means to go out much. But hopefully one day before we get too old to enjoy it.
