You can make low fat chili it's easy and delicious.I love chili and so do my husband. This is the way how i make it:
INGREDIENTS:
2 tsp canola oil (you use olive oil if you like)
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 big anion chopped onion
1 stick celery, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 pound extra-lean ground beef
1 28-ounce can diced tomatoes (with jalapenos, if available)
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 15-ounce can dark red kidney beans, drained
1 15-ounce can pinto beans, drained
2-3 tbsp chili powder, or to taste
1 tbsp ground cumin
PREPARATION:
Heat oil in a large Dutch oven. Add garlic, onion, celery and pepper, and sauté gently for 2-3 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until meat is browned, about 5 minutes.
Add tomatoes, tomato paste, beans, chili powder and cumin
Stir well. Simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally inorder to avoid from burning at the bottom.

i would want to recommend something but it's here in the philippines.anyway, we have this stationary wagons serving gurgers by the sidewalk or a vacant lot, which is called 'BURGER MACHINE" and their patties are made of vegetaqble meat and it tastes like meat!deliciously edible though, not as yummy as burger king or mcdonalds but it will do.i have been eating these stuff for decades and it was only last year that i found out about their veggie meat.so, i came to like it more.

I just made a meal with extra lean hamburger meat. I didn't know they had 'extra'! I got whole grain torillas, salsa, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. Salsa is not bad for you at all. I don't like reduced fat sour cream, but you can get it. I choose just to use a dollop. And of course you can get reduced fat or no fat cheese, but I don't like the taste. So I make two for myself and I am full with no grave calorie concerns. The whole grain torillas are very good and also are a source of fiber. You can slice up a tomato, but that's what I use the salsa for. If you want, lettuce can be added, and you have yourself some very filling soft tacos.

How about some American Shop Suey? It's easy and a great catch all recipe, you can vary the vegatables based on what you have and what needs to get used.
1 1/2 c. elbow macaroni
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 c. diced onions
1 clove garlic, mashed
2 tbsp. oil
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
Black pepper
1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
*note, you can also use fresh veggies, or whatever frozen/canned veggies you have on hand. More vegatables help to bulk up the recipe.
Cook macaroni. Drain and set aside.
Saute meat, onion and garlic in oil until meat loses its pink color and onions are tender. Add pepper, tomato sauce, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce and Italian seasoning. Bring mixture to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Mix in cooked macaroni and simmer for 5 more minutes.

To make any low fat hamburger meals you have to start with low fat meat. If your meat is regular burger meat you will have to drain all the fat off while you are cooking it. Then you have lowfat hamburger and if the fat is what you are concerned about it will all be drained away.
