i am a electrinic engineer,i'm working in a small company,i heart that my boss is a good man since from my coming in it.so i am very happy for the news, at that time ,i thought i would work hard and hard so that the good boss would appreciate me .yes ,i do .duiring my two years of working ,i pay my much time and energy on my work,and lots of problems were be solved as my partcipation ,certainly ,the problems are all technical problem,as i 'm a electrinic engineer.that my job.but what is my reward,two years passed .my earning don't change any more.my boss .the good man often tell me smilely :just do it,it is ok.believe youself.yes ,i do .some day ,my one older colleague tell me :just say it,say it to your boss.say your plan ,say your honest heart.maybe my colleague is right.

i feel your friend is right,
you must request ur need,
since you feel the boss is good, he will defenitely take it positive,
and you have the freedom to ask it,
and request in a polite way, don't demand,
if he understand your importance in that position he won't disagree,
so again, it's your ability to prove your importance to him, i think you might have done this well
