a Proposal

For the women; how did your husband/fiance propose to you?
For the men; how did you propose to your wife/fiancee?
for the singles; how would you like to be proposed to - or how do you imagine yourself proposing?
My beloved proposed to me on a moonlit walk overlooking a canyon. It was a beautiful star filled sky and the moon shone so brightly it gave an appearance of dusk to the late night.
When I was a child I read in one of mom's magazines of a woman's engagement and I always thought it so beautiful and romantic. The fellow purchased a single rose the first month they dated... gave 2 roses the second month, 3 the third and so on.
On the 12th month he gave only 11 roses and when the girl was bewildered he produced a ring. The ring was in the shape of a rose and within the bloom was a diamond. This was the 12th rose, and with it came his proposal for marriage.

My husband and I had talked of marriage, but there was never a "formal" proposal. There was a contest at a radio station I listen to, they wanted to have 10 winners. Each couple had to write a creative story about how the met, etc. I actually won and was given a free wedding, reception and honeymoon. The wedding was to be at the radio station on February 14th. It came with a reception afterwards and a honeymoon to Cancun. I was never able to go on the honeymoon though. I went home the same day I found out I won and wrote my husband a "note" asking him to marry me. he thought it was "cute" and said "yes of course." That was back in 1996 !!

how cool is that!!!
I graduated with a gal that had her wedding provided for her, and televised on the Regis and Kathy Lee show. That was in the early 90s during the gulf war I think.
Her husband was in the military and I reckon his being deployed or the thought of him being deployed highly influenced the decision in choosing them as the winners.
If I remember correctly their's was also on Saint Valentine's day.

we had our 15 minutes of fame as well. We were broadcast over the radio and all the local News stations covered it for about 5 min segments !!

How delightful. My nieces fiance had a huge banner strung on a yacht that said "I love you danielle, Will you marry me?" then he took her to have coffee at an outdoor cafe where she could see it.
I'd love a romantic memorable proposal but I think I've missed out on that ever happening now. LOL.

My boyfriend proposed to me already, but were not gonna get married yet...we're still gonna finish college and get a job.
but anyway, he proposed to me last December 22, 2006. It was our Christmas party -me and our friends- we celebrated it outside my house. Cause there's like a big space, kinda like a field, after we ate and opened the gifts and stuff. We all lay down in the grass, and watched the stars -there were a lot of falling stars during that night, btw-...we were together of course. I was lying in his arms and he proposed. He said that, he wanted to spend his lifetime with me. Ü .
It was really romantic...I've always imagined sleeping under the stars with someone, and I'm so happy that I did it with him. And he even proposed. Ü

I love my boyfriend and I have made a decision to accompany him no matter what happens, that is,I expect to marry him.I'm a bit willful,so is he.But he had some frustrated experience, and dare not to give any promise to me.Because of this I dare not to imagine a proposal.Anyhow,I enjoy the days together with him.
Best wishes for your sweet love ~~

I come from a 'not so romantic' background. Proposing to my wife was a kind of 'formal', I took her out to a fancy restaurant and proposed over supper.
