Pop or Soda?

I say soda .. and I think its just because thats what everyone from where I grew up called it. I grew up in NY and CA and everyone says soda. Then I dated a Canadian and he called it pop and it was very confusing.. It never grew on me to call it pop ... so soda it stays! :)

My father once told me it was a north and south thing.
I say soda cause I was raised in the south.
But my dad said pop because he was raised in the north.
Maybe this discussion to help answer that.

im from minnesota...i used to say pop. ive been in tennessee for bout 10 years...now i say soda. guess if i move further down south....everything will jus b a coke!

Whenever referring to carbonated beverages, I always say soda. I have never heard it called pop.

I think it's where you live or where you are from. I came from Indiana and moved to Florida. Went to a restaurant and ordered pop. The waitress said you must be from the north because she hadn't heard the word pop since she lived in Michigan. Here everyone calls it soda.

Pop seams like an old word to me. I say soda. No offense if you say pop or anything though.
