My baby boy is growing up! He is walking now.
He will be 11 months this Thursday.
I am so happy, but on the other hand, he is growing up so fast, I wish I could keep him a baby forever.
He isn't so great at his new accomplishment yet, but he is doing good for a beginner:P I am so proud of him.
How did you feel when your child began to walk? Or any sort of acheievement, how did you feel?
Were you happy, excited, proud? Tell all.

yup. that's so true. and most moms really treasure the first steps of their babies and had them on photographs and videos. then they look at them together when the baby's old enough to understand already.

That is really a great news. My son is only two months old and it is like waiting forever for him to grow but when I read posting like yours where how we wish that our child remain as babies, I think I will wait for as long as it takes and not to rush him to grow... LOL

Congrats ! Oh your only 11 months old son has started walking .. amazing. As he is growing fast that means you are good mother taking care of him. Each child is lovely to his/her mother and mother always wants her child to be as a baby for ever, but nature does not allow. We have to grow naturally. The words for praise of a child are very few. Mother's happiness can be experienced only cannot be expressed by words.

Yup a very proud moment.
My sons always wanted to walk, even when he was a few months old. He would grab my hands (or someone else's) and use them to allow him to walk.
Crawling he was never to much bothered, I didn't see him do much of that because asoon as he crawled asoon as he started walking.
Around 7 months when he first stood and took steps and about a week later he used everything as props to guide him. (now the little bugger runs rings around us) and he's just over a year and about a month old :P
Kudos,
~Joey
P.s It's always nice to hear about little ones, I think it's great to see proud parents. :)

That is great to hear that you son is now walking. My son is still trying to stand up. He can get himself into an arch and he does jump while his in the arch so he lands on his knees. Scares me to see him do it. But when he first started crawling i was so happy for him as he used to scream that he could'nt get around. But now he races around everywhere. And you can just see how proud he is in him own face when he goes into the arch that he has acomplished something new and is happy.

First of all, congratulations for the first walk of your son. Even though I dont have a baby of my own, I always love babies. Especially when they yawn, when they start walking, when they cry, when they laugh, when they sleep, ... and whatever they do. Its always a fun with them. Hope you are having a nice time with your son. Try to capture almost all his activities in a video so that you can always watch him as a child even later. Hope your son is now walking, trying to balance him, just like Neil Armstrong did when he first walked in the moon !!!!!!

good for you! atleast he's growing up but sad that babies grow up fast.
my younget brother when he was still a baby, he was so cute (he's still cute up to now). and when he started walking, all the people in the family were so happy about it. we took pictures of his first step. it felt great that you see their development.
how about you? did you take pictures of your baby's first steps?

don't we all wish the same? when my son was born I always play with him and not a minute wasted. I never thought babies are fun to play with. But they grow too fast. the next thing you know, they can talk, walk & run. Now it's no fun chasing him around but we still play. Although sometimes his curiousness to other things annoy me. Like when we go to a park, he doesn't want to go to the small slides anymore, he also wants to go to the biggest one which of course he's not ready yet.

I don't have kids, so I don't know how it's like. But I know LOTS of mommies that, just like you, wish their kids to be babies forever. I think it's a healthy thing and a natural instinct, but take care not to take this too far. You'll only annoy him with that, specially if he reaches his adolescence and you still have the same wishes.
Anytime I reach an achievement, I feel extremely proud of myself. I guess it's the main feeling that fills my mind! :D

Well, I a student yet and so children is unapplicable to me. But yes, I would had felt the same excitement as you are feeling now. Every parent will be the most happiest person to acknowledge his/her childs smallest achievements. No matter how trivial it is but the most important thing is his/her child has acomplished it.
