Do you wear a ring around your finger?

This discussion is for both males and females (amoebas pls refrain), young and old, married and single (whichever stage).
The concept of wearing a ring is certainly not a new one. It stretches far back to the year XYZ (pls do your own research) and people everywhere on this planet have been wearing rings of one sort or another. I won't even be surprised if it started from cavemen twirling weeds into rings for their wives.
So, do you wear a ring around your finger? Or do you hang it around your neck? Is there any special significance for your ring? Want to share what material it is made of? Thanks. ;-)

If I'm staying at home, I prefer my fingers free of any ring. If I'm going insane, I will have ten rings on all ten of my fingers, LOL!
I normally wear one ring on my left index finger. Its a silver platinum which I bought a few years back. I love it for its simplicity. I don't wear the other ring for many years already. You know what I'm saying. I have this wish to own a Tiffany ring. You might like to get one for me soon, LOL!

You wish, baby! What's in a brand anyway? Just loop 10 rubber bands around your bunny fingers. :P

I only wear my rings when I go out. After cleaning, washing dishes, etc. with all the cleaning agents and water that my hands are in everyday, I just don't want to be putting on and taking off my rings. I have wedding rings, but that is not what I wear. I have inherited a few nice rings and prefer those, diamonds of course..lol. I wear these on my left hand, on my right hand I alternate what I wear, I have several different ones. I only wear rings on my ring finger. So that is what I wear when going out.

Do you ever forget where you put them (or can't find them) since you keep taking them on and off?

I have a ring tree in my kitchen on a small shelf, it also holds my watch, I walk into the kitchen when I come home and that it the first thing that I do, take off my watch and rings. That way they are never misplaced. If we are going to have guest that I don't know very well, then I place the ring tree in the cupboard on the top shelf behind a few items, just in case, you never know, I am not that trusting.

Of course I wear my wedding ring and engagement ring on my ring finger of my left hand. I also wear my husband's wedding ring them. He is not aloud to wear jewelry at work so I wear it for him. Occasionally when he goes on holiday I will "make him" wear it, but he has been known to take it off because he is not used to it. I feel naked without my wedding rings.
If I am dressing up I might put a ring on the finger of my right hand. But I only wear rings on the ring fingers (the one next to the pinky). I don't like rings on other fingers or thumbs. I have to get some of my good ones sized. My opal is too small and sometimes I wear it on my pinky but I risk losing it that way.

Forgot to mention what they are made of. My husband's wedding ring is a plain gold band. My engagement ring is gold with one diamond in the middle with two smaller diamonds on each side. My wedding ring it gold with three diamonds.

I wear two rings, one on each middle finger. I've owned these rings for quite a long time now, about 6 years. Both are silver, but one has a clear stone and the other one has a black stone. They both have a vintage design. I've become very attached to my rings especially after I bought the black stone one. To me they represent the two sides in life, like the concept of yin and yang. I actually used to have a ring of the yin (the black side) but someone stole it from me :/

Good morning Lordwarwizard,
Yes, I wear at least one ring, usually two. My wedding bands (two rings soldered together to form one band) were given to my Mother by my Father, going on 50 years ago. Instead of purchasing a new band when I got married, I chose to use my Mother's bands to symbolize a new generation of committed marriage. They are white gold, with diamonds.
I usually wear a right-hand ring as well. This ring finger might be adorned with one of several different yellow gold and colored gemstone rings. I choose the ring to coordinate with my outfit. Or, as is often the case, I'll choose the outfit around the jewelry. I might be in a sapphire mood, or a garnet mood, or a quartz mood.
It's funny, but years ago I couldn't stand to wear rings. Now, I feel kind of naked without them.

Yes good morning, my lady. It's just past 12 midnight for me right now so I guess it is morning.
And seems that the soldering practice is quite a common one..

I do wear a ring sometimes. It is my engagement ring and well Im not used to a ring so I forget to put it on sometimes (Like right now). It is a white gold cause I dont like yellow gold with diamonds and it kinda looks like a snake. Its not your traditional wedding ring but Im not your traditional woman either.

I do wear a ring around my fingers, a couple in fact, one on my right hand ring finger and one on my pinky, both are 14K Gold, over the years I have always liked Gold better than Silver but lately I have been enjoying Platium, I like how it shines and doesn't change colors as Silver does. My rings are no significant, I change them with my moods.

Engagement rings and I have had tumultuous times...due to the fiances attached to them, if ya know what I mean (wink). I was nice enough to return all 4 of them. Three of them consisted of a white gold band with 1 carat diamonds (heart shaped, solitaire, princess cut). The last one I had was the most difficult to return because of the betrayal that came with it. Basically, all my guy friends told me NOT to give it back to the jerk. I was actually shocked that other men would not side with him. The ring carried much symbolic pain and in order to completely free myself of it, I made jerk-face drive 7 hours to retrieve it from my mother (who hated his guts and he hated her). I also burned the appraisal paper as a form of spiritual cleansing. I then purchased a "right-hand" ring for myself. It too has a white gold band, 4 princess cut diamonds in the center and is encrusted with little diamonds. I only wear it when I go out. It feels great to have a ring that I will never have to return or wear out of obligation.

I have my wedding ring and engagement ring on my left hand ring finger. I have an anniversary diamond ring on my middle finger left hand. I use to also wear a thumb ring on my right hand, but I have seemed to misplaced it. My rings are all gold.

I don't get tired of my rings. I actually feel weird if I don't have them on. I have been wearing my engagement ring for 22 yrs, my wedding ring for 20 yrs and my anniversary ring for 10 yrs. They don't bug me at all.

I cant stand wearing jewlry. I have just never felt like wearing a necklace or rings. Everytime I see a guy that wears alot fo gold I think of a used car salesmen. Why I dont know but its just a thought that passes through my head. My wife has alot of jewlry and it doesnt really bother me to see her wearing it. Maybe it wasnt the macho thing to do when I was growing up, the only manly guy I ever seen doing it was MrT. I guess if you do wear jewlry you should go way overboard like he did.just kidding.

Oh Wiz this one has really made me do some thinking! in my first marriage I had a set of 3 rings specially made - they were engagement, wedding and eternity bands, made of 24 carat gold, with beautiful deep green emerald and quality diamonds and they cost a FORTUNE! I did so love those rings but the marriage and relationship they represented was not at all good or healthy and the best thing I ever did was get out of a dangerous situation, for the sake of myself and my eldest son! I then spent several years alone with my son before I met my partner! We have been together 10 years and engaged almost as long (neither of us is in a rush, we know we love each other which is the important thing!) and the ring I have worn since then is a simple gold and white gold band with one small diamond in the middle! It is small and simple but means so much to me! I think it goes to prove a point that money can be useful but love means so much more! xxx

Gems studded rings are worn globally, but here in India, some people wear rings with different gemstones as recommended by astrologers to ward off any impending misfortune ,or,to usher in good fortune?health etc.
So I,being no exception, wear a couple of such rings, apart from the usual ones.

Hi, Yes I wear my wedding ring, engagement ring together. My wedding ring is gold and has a couple diamonds, not too big, but big enough for me. My engagement ring is gold and it fits into my wedding ring. I had them custom made right in front of me. I also wear a ring on my right hand ring finger. A ring that my husband bought me for Valentines Day one year. The ring is gold with a ruby stone, which is my birth stone. On the band the words i love you are written. The only time I take off my wedding ring is to clean it. Do you wear any rings?
