Will the war in Iraq ever have an equitable end?

I am curious on your thoughts about this subject. The war has been going on for years but I just don't see a good and equitable end for it. The most likely scenario to me seems to be that once the troops finally withdraw there will be a permanent base built there, perhaps several and we'll have a situation similar to korea. I firmly think it'll be decades before anything good can come of this in truth and even then only if nothing goes worse for the efforts than already has.
I consider the whole thing to be rather pointless, and can't stand that soldiers are dying for a few gallons of dead animal juice.

I think it's pointless at this point too. I did see the need to go in the first place in order to remove the main figure heads and to make a point after 911 that they shouldn't mess with the U.S. however we have done all we can. It's not going to change over there... not like this. If we aren't going to just take control over the country and safe them all personally we need to just let it go. They will have to do it on their own if they want to change. I doubt there will be so much as one day without some car bomb or other act of unhumane horrior in Iraq in my lifetime.
