Did you know that you'll consume 1/10 of a calorie just licking a stamp.
Weirdest diet trivia fact, I've ever heard.
Some people claim that there are foods that will actually burn calories, like grapefruits, green tea, oranges, and some veggies. Maybe that's why vegetarians have an easier time with weight management.
Got any weird diet trivia that you'd like to share? Care to debunk any diet myths?
For instance, will you really gain more weight if you eat and then go to sleep immediately afterward?
Do you burn more calories in the morning, or evening?
When is the best time to exercise, before or after a meal?
If you know, let me know. Would love to hear what you think.

Going to sleep immediately after eating is one of the techniques sumo wrestlers use to gain weight. Just logically, I find that it's better to eat more in the morning since you burn off the calories throughout the day with your active daytime lifestyle. My mother had always raised me with the rule of "no eating past 6PM," as part of this principle.
The foods that supposedly burn calories are probably just foods that increase a person's metabolism, enabling them to burn calories at a faster rate permanently or temporarily. You can add cranberry juice to that list.
On another note, I've read that if you consume caffeine before exercising, you burn 30% more fat. I hope it's true~

Well, I wake up at 6AM everyday... so I'm guessing, just assuming from my mother's old rule, that you should stop eating 12 hours after you wake up (leaving the other 12 hours in the day for your body to digest the food).

I think that's what happened to me. When I came home from the hospital with my daughter we started going through all the sleepless nights issues. And, of course, that meant eating late nights, too. And, then going to sleep.
It's just part of being a mom I guess.
Looks like we're in the same boat.
As far as losing weight, it's one of my obsessions.

i think any one can make a successful weight management by controlling his desire to eat food.if you want to eat more chocolate ,cookies and others ,you can stop yourself ,and tell yourself that i am full and i need not to eat more because i already know what those taste.i must save my mouth to try new ,and delicious food. this way can keep balance .all right?

From what i have read you should at least give out 2 hrs of time before you go to sleep after eating. Well, to be honest I don't really know what to do or which one to follow. all i know i am not losing any weight and keep on gaining. Getting tired of work out and diet. Maybe i just go and save money to get a gastric bypass... lol

haha so true. there are no foods that burn calories! the BEST time to exercise is during morning (or anytime you wake up) BEFORE any meal. that means exercising without any food in your stomach (except the ones you consumed the night before). ive read about that a thousand times already and it's actually what i do and it works. it really works for me, it speeds up my metabolism (as i've observed). i used to have a real slow metabolism but now it seems like no matter how much i eat, i don't get fat anymore. but i really observe my daily exercise. no fail.

Thank you! Finally, information on weight loss, I can really use. I am not opposed to working out. But, it seems the way I'm doing it now, isn't working. I'll give your pre-meal idea a try.
