Canadian soldiers are in Afghanistan because we belong to Nato and have to fulfill our commitments to Nato. Myself, I wish we could bring them home. I cry every time when another one comes home in a coffin. Obviously we are not wanted there, so why are we sacrificing our beautiful young people. Iraq is another story. The Americans made a big mistake by going in there. Now they pay the price. I cry for the beautiful young Americans too when they are killed for an idea and have no chance to experience life, marriage, children and their homes. These countries are not used to Western democracy. Most Middle Eastern countries have dictatorships, or these states have no separtion between church and state, and are not interested in democracy. Lebanon gets a lot of help from the West. Besides, Canada brought back hundreds or even thousnds of Lebanese who were waving their Canadian passports. Many of them had stayed in Canada only long enough to get their citizenship and then went back to Lebanon. When they were evacuated at taxpayers expense they were ungratefull and badmouthed the Government about the accomodation and transportation. Now a lot of them are back in Lebanon. I hope next time a conflict breaks out we will be less generous. The situation in Darfur is deplorable but the Sudan does not even allow humanitarian help. Many aid agencies have been withdrawn because it is not safe to be there. Muslim countries in the region absolutely do not care about the plight of the refugees. They are not Muslims. The United Nations do not get anywhere with the Sudanese Government. So how can you make those countries safe?

Bush is helping Lebanon... He gave more aid to Lebanon than all the Arab countries combined. How's that for help?
