I would like to settle an ongoing argument with my best friend. She says that men cannot urinate while sitting down, if they are using the toilet they have stand to urinate and sit down to do the rest of their business. Is this true? I say that men can sit down and urinate. Am I right? Or is she right? Please help us to settle this...

Hahaha, what a poser! I am a man, and I can tell you that I can urinate sitting down without any problem at all. It is just that I don't have to do that, cos I can also easily do that standing up! But I don't blame your friend for being naive. After all, she can't be in a male toilet watching men urinate to know this, right?

You are right lexus54! My friend cannot watch the men to see how it works. You guys are lucky I must say, having two options. She thinks that being that men do stand, they can only urinate that way! She is silly and she is going to be ticked off when she sees that I was right! Thank for responding...take care now!

My boys (I have two) and my husband as well as ex husband all sit down from time to time to pee - especially if they are doing more than peeing during that visit to the bathroom. Unfortunately, they can also pee while laying down (a problem my son has not fully grown out of yet... bedwetting)

Hi sk1976, thanks for responding. Thanks for the information also. My grandson had the problem of bedwetting and his Mom started to wake him up just before she went to bed at night and again at about 6 in the morning. It helped alot. Hope you let me know if you try it and it works. Also, some children have small bladders. Perhaps you should take him to the doctor to see if that could be the problem? Maybe you already did that but the midnight wake up did it for my grandson. Good luck to you. Take care...and have a great weekend! Happy Father's Day to all!

Hi cipher2004, thanks for responding. May I ask? Why was your ex-boyfriend surprised when he knew you saw him sitting to urinate? Was it because he felt he should be standing? I am just curious. Take care...

I know for a fact that men can urinate sitting down. When my first husband went blind and had eye surgery he always sat to go he told me this himself because he couldn't see what he was doing. After the surgery he was OK but only for a short time. He eventually lost one eye and the other one wasn't much good either. Take Care.

Your right tsgirl, while using the toilet men do not have to stand up to urinate, it does work in a sitting position. Tell your friend she is wrong! LOL

Hi howard96h, thanks for responding. I have to laugh at the way you said "it does work in a sitting position." I guess that's what I will let my friend know..."Duh...yes it does work in a sitting position, it does work both ways!" Take care now...

Ha! Ha! That is silly. Of course men can sit and do that. We have that option. The only thing is is if "it" touches the water while you are sitting. This of course depends on the type of toilet you have. Thank goodness I do not share my toilet, with anyone. My fiance has hers and I have mine.

Hi aamoore, I know it sounds silly but being a woman I just did not know. You guys are lucky to have the option to sit or stand, makes it better when you have to go and the bathroom isn't so clean in public places. You don't have to sit if you only have to pee! LOL!!! What kinds of toilets determine if it hits the water or not???? LOL!!! My fried is gonna be pissed (excuse the pun) when she reads the responses and sees that I was right! Thanks for responding and you take care!
