The opposite happened to me. I was reared to be uneducated and my intelligence saved me.
You can reclaim your intelligence, I have faith in you to repair the damage.

This is the biggest illusion with education. People feel smart, but they aren't.
If you want to become smart you already know not to listen to teachers. Real intelligence and knowlegde comes from within, not outside.
Ofcourse if you already know this you can take advantage of education in the right manner, but i've met educated doctors with the IQ of a turtle.
Really smart people are frustrated and annoyed by school.

Here is a link to some great examples of the worlds smartest people and their views on education: http://learninfreedom.org/Nobel_hates_school.html
Including Einstein, who hated school.

You were born intelligent, but it was up you to develop that intelligence. Personally I would have found that difficult without education. We all need help as children in getting our thought processes going and learning how to learn. Those are things I teach in Kindergarten. If you honestly believe that your education ruined your intelligence, then I don't think you ever really learned these basic lessons. Once we develop these basic skills as well as a love for learning, we're able to continue developing our intelligence our whole lives.

Couldn't agree more. Education turns people stupid and shuts their way of thinking inside a little neat box.
Goodnight.
