Did you realise that there are things that we buy but we actually don't really need or want them. You probably bought on expensive food possessor but realised you dont use it because you hate cooking. You have a Gold Cross pen and pencil set that you've never taken out of the box. And even have a gorgeous piece of Samsonite luggage, yet you dont travel. Why do we buy things that we dont need or want? Is it because it a must have or that everyone has it? Or is it a collection, perhaps for own satisfaction? What is the reasons?

Yes Ellie, you are right. Many things we buy even which are not of use to use. When we analyse we find that few things are lying as it is and going to be waste. This is because of improper planning before purchasing. When we go to market, first we should make a list prioritywise. This will avoid us to purchase unnecessary things which is just waste of money. I do take care of this. Make a list and buy. Even whenever I feel to buy any new thing which comes to my mind when I am at other work, I pen down it in a notebook. Whenever I visit market I buy. In market we find lot of attractive things to buy but we should avoid.

Sometimes i also do the same, I bought a jacket which i think would be useful but only few wear of it, i don't want it anymore. I bought small meat grinder, i am thinking i will be using it often but later on, i prefer ready made ground meat, so it's useless. If i found a thing attractive or cute, i buy it, i am thinking that it will be useful but most of the time not, so it goes to collection area.

I do it sometimes if I saw the product is on sale for future use. But buying it for the real prize and I don't really used it now. NO I will just wait for them to be sale. I don't have enough money to spend to satify me or for just collection. I have lot things to buy and is more important for me so I will buy it first.

I have a lot of things like this. For the most part they seemed like a good idea at the time, but get no love later. A few things I always intended to use later.

for own satisfaction which is proven to be useless at all.
i love to buy clothes and i do it all the time. even if i know i can't wear them anymore since i have lots of them already. even some do still have tags on them, i just can't stop buying some other clothes. i just love clothes and i realiazed it is a very useless hobby since i will just end up having too much clothes which i can't actually wear at all.
now, i am regretting why i bought lots of them. here in the philippines, the wear is usually warm and so, most of my clothes are sleeveless or tank tops. and i will be migrating to sweden soon to be with my boyfriend and i won't be needing those sexy tops anymore. sad to say that most of them will be left here in the philippines. how i wish i did not buy all those clothes at all.

If I buy something and for some reason don't use it or wear it. I end up putting it up on freecycle. I don't leave things lying around my house that I don't or my family don't use. I have a tendacy to pass it along to someone else who can use it. I had spending money on something that I or my family can't use.

that's what i am going to do with the clothes which i won't be bringing along. i will pass them to people and friends i know of who will fit into my size. it's better if people can use it than let it just stay inside the wardrobe cabinet.

Sometimes you buy because you like it a lot and many times due to others. Some people want to buy things for the future, so that they need not go looking for it when they need it. But, the most common reason is that, people like to do shopping and blow money;) After all the hard work, they want to feel that it was worth the effort.

Hi, ellie26.
Yeah, I do realize this kind of situations after its happening most of the time.
I think it's quite probable for us to buy something which we don't need or want.
As for me, this will happen when I need it eagerly or just act on impulse. However, there do exists those who just wanna follow others no matter what they're short of.
Just my own opinions. :)
Have a good day! ^_^

I think everyone tends to do this at one point or another. I am not quite sure why...probably compulsion. Basically, shopping and spending money makes people feel better about themselves. People will always follow that which makes them feel good.

these things that are not used are needs .we bought them because there is a need for us to have it and just simply to have it and telling ourselves that we might have some use for it in the future.

Maybe because they have the money to splurge.. On my part, I watch what I buy for I believe that I have to spent what is due, not spend because it's for collection or whatever reason. If you are on a tight budget, It's impossible to buy what you don't need anymore, however some save to buy stuff they don't even need.. It's a satisfaction on them.

I am learning to use my money wisely. I agree that I bought things that wasn't really important. I am living alone right now and using my money wisely is always in my head. I saw some real good stuffs somewhere but I want think over what things I really needed.

I have also bought many cookware and silverware which I have hardly used I do realize that its useless wasting all that money. I make up my mind everytim I shop not to do that again but I start craving to buy it as soon as I see it which makes me feel guilty not to buy it..

IT is the mentality of most of the people that they tend to get attracted with the word SALE.I was passing through the the market suddenly I saw sale was put up in a crockery shop. I bought so many bowls, cutlery expensive dinner sets, glasses, serving trays.I was so much busy shopping that I didn't realise the things I'm buying I alredy have so many at home. Before going for shopping we should always plan first. We should shop by logic & not by merely getting attracted to sale.SPEND WISELY.
