The police are after you, and you have barricaded yourself inside your house... The police are considering making you surrender by playing awful music at a high volume. Which genre is most likely to make you surrender?

I know the type you mean! I call it wanky jazz... the kind that goes on for ever with a ten minute piano solo followed by another 10 minute trumpet solo! That would drive me insane too!

hehe. guitarists have a great word for that sort of playing. Fretwanking. only the person doing it enjoys it, and they pull strange faces. so a lot like the more normal sort. hehe.

Hooty and Blowfish,the song "We Built This City",and bad covers of great songs I love.It wouldn't make me surrender, it would make me want to shoot it out with the cops.

I would not let them get me; instead, I would put my headphones on and listen to my own music. The most tortuous music to me though would be opera, especially the screeching high pitch kind.

oh gosh...i'd probably just start singing to whatever song they'd try to make me surrender with...then THEY would be the ones to give up on ever trying to capture me...( p.s. if they were to play some instrumental thing, i'd probably hum along with it, or just make up completely idiotic words to go with the tune...) (p.p.s. i am tone deaf...dundundun...)

For me, that music would probably be any kind of fast, chaotic techno with a chipmunk voice singing. I think I'd be able to last through the generic pop that's played on the radio, though I'm not crazy fond of it either.

Lol that would be HORRIBLE! I'd have find some pills to swallow before i could live through that, and considering those pills id swallow i probably wouldnt be alive afterwards anyway...cheers

What an interesting question! I am not 100% sure because I have a very wide range of interest in many types of music. But if I HAD to make a decision (And all due respect to the Chinese); I would say that if they played Chinese Opera music at full volume I would not last very long at all before running out of the building screaming! Yodeling music would probably come in a pretty close second!
