Even the cat won't give me private time!

I was soaking in my nice hot bath enjoying the quiet when my first daughter came in. She was going on about her bird and I said excuse me but can I take a bath in private please. She acted like she hadn't even noticed I was in the tub. She left and in came my other daughter ranting about how her sister did her wrong. I asked is there a note some where that says it is ok to bother mom when she is relaxing in the tub. Pouting a bit off she went. I melted deeper in the tub when in comes my 3rd visitor. With a loud meow to get my attention paws come up on the side of the tub. She started meowing her problem to me. In which I replied hey the same goes for you get out of my bathroom I want to relax. She protested a bit more then the girls did but then on my insistance she pranced off letting me know she was not happy about me making her leave. By now the water is cold and my relaxation time is over. You know you have a problem when even the cat won't let you have time alone to enjoy a bath.

I totally agree, my cat is such a pain sometimes, he likes to try and drink my water that I take to bed with me.. I got woken up early this morning because he had knocked it over splashing me with the water - not the best thing to wake up to in the morning!!

Sorry but I had to laugh while I was reading this. I know exactly how you feel. I would suggest maybe locking the bathroom door. Of course then the kids would just yell through the door and the cat would probably be scratching it.

I go through the same thing. I have learned to lock the bedroom door and close the bathroom door so even if they yell through the locked door, I can't hear them in the bathroom.

You should make a ruler with your children, and you will be good next time.

Shoot, I usually have two cats and a puppy in there with me when try for a bath. The sad thing is that I usually invite them in there but at least they generally just lay in the floor but occasionally the cats will sit on the edge and play with the bubbles.

You poor thing I understand this too well. With four kids and a hubby, three cats and a dog there is no were safe. The toilet is open discussion time and a locked door is a need you time. I find the only time I find myself alone is when the house is a mess not a sole in sight. They run like the wind and are gone for hours. funny isnt it.

That is so funny. Did't you read the very fine print on the papers that came with your girls? It down at the very bottom and is so fine you need a big magnafying glass to see it. It says all girls will ba visiting moms when she is relaxing in a nice tub of bubble bath. This is automaticaly programed into your girls. It is not an option and will continue until they leave home. Then you can have a nice private bath.

I hear you loud and clear. You need to lock the door for a few minutes of peace. Kids and pets, they are the same. Don't want you around when you are available, but do when you aren't.

I have to agree with the others, I was laughing as I read this. I gave up on privacy in the bathroom a long time ago. I always have a cat in there wanting me for something, whether it's love or just to supervise. It doesn't matter if I shut the door or not, they still push it open and if I close it so they can't they meow pitiously on the other side and reach a paw under. I told them I don't need kitty cat supervision but they don't believe me. I guess they feel they need to make sure I'm not going to be sucked down the drain or something.

Hahahahaha! Aren't cats the best even when they are being pains in the butt? (which happens to be most of the time) Next time, you should close and lock your door! THat'sll keep them out!

You think you have a problem? Try eleven grandkids screaming "gotta go toilet nanny!" all at once! Now the house only has one toilet. The cousin lives next door and is a plumbe. I've urged the hubby for another yet to no avail. Not only that but as soon as they see there is bubblebath, it's a race to see who can hop in first.I throw my hands in the air and give up.Then to make matters worse. They decide to test all my perfumes. Oh and did I mention the actual toilet decorating?? Seems like it's a ritual, that must be carried out every visit to grandma's place. Tie a big bow of toilet paper around the lid and decorate anything else that may need brightening up! Now I must mention polly. Yep you got in in one. My parrot. Not your typical parrot by any means. "This one has a large vocabulary.."Polly wants a bath".. "Pass the soap, wash my back, not that rough!" The cat eventually attempts to participate, mewing at the door like a banshee. Oh and mustn't forget "buddy" the border collie that will shortly be returned to the animal shelter if he doesn't put a sock in it! He's decided to try out for Australian Idol. Using the bathroom as a recording studio. I must admit he and Polly just might become celebrities. Their harmony is great!Although deafening. Attempting to take a bath in peace is like trying to surf in the Sahara. If it's not one thing it's another. Here I am just dashing to the bedroom naked to get my good book. Then on my return I find my hubby installed in the warm water. My showercap on his head, doing crossword puzzles in my fave magazine. Oh and eating MY chocolates also! And you think you have a problem!

My cats never give me private time either. I can't have private time wiht my husband, can't go to the bathroom alone, can't eat alone, and on and on. Sometimes it gets really annoying, but I would rather have the bugging me than not here. They sit in the windows and wait for me to come home. Then they lay on the floor in front of the door. At least someone misses me!
