How do I start learning VB and where do you think I can learn it free of charge?

Hi! you guys have been wonderful in terms of response. I appreciate all your efforts. I need help on this. I want to learn Visual Basic, cos am not yet in the university and I don't want to stay without learning at least one or two things before starting school. I want to learn it so that I will little skills before going back to school. Though Someone thought me little about it, but he didn't start from the scratch. How do I start? Do you know any website I can learn it free of charge? Please help me out.

Hello, I also consider myself as Visual Basic beginner. There are actually a number of online tutorials for free. The tutorials may range from basic to advance. Few of the URLs I've visited are the following, these are good for beginners and I do guarantee you that they really start from scratch. From VB IDE to source codes.

I have used VB for some time, my step was, first, follow some of the examples in with the VB package. At the same time, try to buy one book about VB, read through the book and have a good understanding about the vb structure. After that, try to write some small programs concerning your projects or interested field, you might meet many problems and question during that, at this time, try find the solution through web searching and help document of VB.
For VB, experience and new idea is much more important that the programing itself.
