I would like to know that are you a modest person? I mean if you have completed some task..do you brag or tell all others about it or do you remain silent or just say that I have just done my duty...which I was supposed to do. Do you follow modesty and do you feel that if it is in you...is it a positive trait?
Thanks

I definitely take pride in what I do, but I don't expect others to commend me on my actions. I don't brag on myself (at least not very often anyway...LOL). I just do the best I can and go on to the next task, and if I receive praise for what I have done it definitely makes me feel good.

A really modest person cannot say he is modest right? LOL.. what a dilemma.
I think I am modest enough (lol, very modest to say I am modest right?). I do brag sometimes, but it is only harmless bragging among friends who appreciate me for who I am. ;-)

One of the greatest saints of India, Sri Aurubindo in his book YOGA writes: everyone does the work, but you do better than others, more than others. That makes you a distinct person. That is yoga. I follow this in toto. I need not have to appreciate about my own work. I feel I should enthuse all my fellow workers to do better.

i always do most things at home. but i don't brag about it. i am happy with chores that i do and i always feel good whenever i accomplish tasks in a day. no need to tell people about what i have done. i just love what i do and it's up to them to notice it or not.

Hmm, on the surface I think everyone is modest, but deep down I think a lot of people know how good they are. But nobody likes a vain person, it's such an unattractive quality, so we all tend to kinda act the way people want us to act. I know that when somebody compliments me when I know I look nice, I still get shy and tell 'em to stop lying and all that. But I hate compliments anyway, lol.
So, to answer you question, yes, I think I am a modest person (on the surface).

Being modest could be viewed from different angles. You could view it from the way you dress;that is, do you over dress or dress simply? How do you eat? Do you eat just enough to be filled or above the normal level? I can go on and on mentioning other examples. The point I am trying to make here is that somebody could be modest in some areas and be found wanting in others.
Personally, I desire to be modest in everything I do but I have discovered that in as much as I try to achieve this pattern of life style, I still find myself struggling especially in a situation I have done something good and if not mentioning it would be viewed by the people around me that
I am not contributing to the wellbeing of that association I shall forget what it means to be modest.Thanks.

I'd like to think that I am generally a modest person - I accept and appreciate when I have done something well,
and I will tell my loved ones of my achievement/s because I do have pride in myself.
I definitely think that modesty is a positive trait, although having pride, like I said, so long as you are not arrogant, is also very positive and commendable trait - yay for self-confidence!
