Oh yes, I absolutely love durians. After all, it is not called the King of fruits for nothing. I remember hating it at first smell/sight but my Dad forced me to eat it. And after that, why, I discovered it is such a heavenly food - both smell and taste. It is quite heaty though so wouldn't do good to eat too often. Totally wreck your breath too. :P

Hi laiyongjun~! IWell, unlike you, I LOVE durian~! Hehe.. I don't really mind the smell. It's pretty strong and hotels and airplanes don't even permit to bring it in. Durians aren't actually good for your health you know. You can't eat too much cuz it's a very heaty fruit unlike other cooling fruits like watermelons. Also, not all durians taste the same. So, since you've never eaten one before, you might just land on a bad one if you happen to have the guts to try it one day. I love durians that are rich and yellow. The white ones aren't really nice and it's quite bitter too. Some durian lovers eat any type as long as its durians! hehe.. =D

I've heard that not all durians taste the same too!! But I haven't been brave enough to try another one! How do you pick out a good one?

Well honestly, I have no idea~! haha.. I just tell the seller to open them up for me. So if the texture of the fruit is really creamy and yellow, that's the one that I like, and for me tastes the best~! But not everyone agrees with me. Like my Mom, she likes the white ones that have a slight bitter taste to it.. So I can't really help you out here.. :( But you know, if you do happen to have the guts to try one, try out the yellow one. This type of durian is usually very big. But don't worry, most sellers let you open the fruits and try it out.

first and foremost, sweetdreams to you! anyway, i am from davao city, philippines wherein our city is well known for durian. and most people here do love this fruit. but i don't. hehe. they say i am weird because i don't eat it. i haven't even tasted it. but just by the smell of it, i feel dizzy already. but my boyfriend who is from sweden tried this when he once came over to visit my family and i last year. at first, he does not want to try it. but later on, he did. his first try, he hated it. but when he finished the first durian meat, he loved it. and he ate more after that. and when he returned to sweden, he told his friends about how yucky durian is at first but how yummy it is after the first taste. hehe. but i still don't have the courage to try it!

You can buy it in the US. Go to any Asian grocery market or store. Some smaller ones have frozen Durians and bigger ones have fresh durians with the rest of the fruit. You'll be able to smell it and feel it...it's pretty spiky!

I like durian. My family love durian..LOL. We used to eat it up to 3 durians as well. But, now we don't do it much. Well, it's because durian gives a lot of choresterol, and it's not really good for your health if you eat it in large quantity. Durian raise blood pressure. Usually if you eat durian, you need to drink water. To remove any plague in your teeth, the smell of durian and of course to help reduce headache. My country believe that if you drink water that you put on durian's shell, you will helped from headeache.

Wow! What a wonderful fruit it sounds! Durian is my favorite fruit. I like both the smell and the taste of it and it’s the king of the fruits in my country, Malaysia. I only take the durians of good qualities and good species but they may be quite expensive. I never like those imported grafted durians. The smell of durian could be quite repulsive to a person who has never tasted durian before but once you have tasted it you will addict to it. This is quite similar to a person like me dare not try the smelly bean curd (chou dou fu) when I visited china and Taiwan.

Oh yes! We do love eating durians... They even have different graded durians in Singapore... Some can even cost S$50 per fruit... A lot of people here have an eating passion for it. They make cakes, puddings and what not from it... Personally, I like eating it but not too much 'cos it's very 'heaty'... and yes, you'll tend to have bad breathe after eating it... Try it for fun!!

Durian is known as the "king of fruit" weight 2-5 kgs, the mature fruit is golden yellow - brown,  the flesh is creamy yellow and very sweet. The flesh slightly soft to touch. It acquired taste and nutritious value which is high vitamin A, calcium, phosphorus. But even though it says sweet and creamy I'm nauseated by the smell of it.

In the past I didn't like it as it smells bad. Few years ago I occasionally ate it and I found it tasted well. After that, I like this fruit. In my family, only my mom and I like it. Others are not interested in it at all as they think it smells like stink.

Durian is an expensive and exotic fruit from Asia - one-of-a-kind fruit in Southeast Asia. It reeks.
I have never heard of durian. Nor have I ever seen one in the grocery stores in my country of the United states. It is a very strange looking piece od fruit. I'm glad that you told us here what they taste like now if I ever come across One I will not eat it.

Durian is native from Philippines also...I eat durian as candy not as fruit...I can't take it's smell that's why I never eat durian fruit....Here in Philippines, the centre of durian production is the Davao Region. They celebrate Kadayawan Festival annually featuring durian in Davao City...

Sure! I love to eat durians. Its taste wonderful. People love and hate this fruit. This fruit is readily found in South East Asia. I remembered seeing it in London's chinatown but it was so damn expensive. Once, a supplier brought us some durians that he grow behind his factory. Wow I've never eaten such good durians before. Its almost seedless and the meat is just wonderful and sweet. It taste so rich and creamy. I cannot forget the time... :D
