I just took my two year old to bed when I looked behind me to see what she was doing and found out she had fallen asleep standing at the coffee table . She was trying to hold herself up but kept falling as she was fast asleep .I should have taken a picture of her but I was afraid she was going to fall over :) I can remember my son when he was little would put himself in a corner and fall asleep ? I just don't know how one could fall asleep while still standing . Where is the strangest place you have ever found your child sleeping ?

One of my children always loved to fall asleep in the cabinet below the coffee table when they were little. The first time it scared me silly because I looked all over for her at the time. I just happened to see her foot sticking out as I went to look behind the couch. One of my other children use to go int to the bathtub to fall asleep. He would shut the shower curtain behind him as he got into the tub. I was always worried that he might one day actually run a bath.

I once fell asleep in a chair at a frat. party in college. It was loud, and wild and crazy but when I decide to sleep I can do it anywhere. My friends teased me and said that it doesn't count as falling asleep when you passout.... but I was not even drinking that night because I was the designated driver.

I'm so embarrassed, I just noticed that this discussion was the strangest place "your child" has ever fallen asleep. I need to read more carefully.

This was just last week. My little sweetie, 2.5 yr old, politely pushed his plate away and said 'nite, nite' right at the kitchen table. It had been a really long day.

My cat has these big boxes over her litter boxes, with just a small door in the front. The doors are too small for the dogs to get through, since they like to sneak in and steal stuff out of her litter box otherwise. The cat has her food and water and a couple of toys in these "houses" too. The other day my son was playing in the living room floor while I was cooking. I looked in at him, and he was asleep with his hand in Trinitie's box. I went to get closer, and he was actually holding onto her and they were both fast asleep. It was so cute.

fast asleep - half under the table on a bin sleeping right through all the decorating.
This might not be the strangest place but it is one that I have a photo of. We were in the middle of decorating for Christmas so all the bins of decorations were laying about along with the bins for the fall things that we were taking down. My second oldest son was not quite three years old at the time. He got a little hungry but it was also close to naptime. We fixed him a plate and set it up at the table, at least what was left of the table. It was all pretty chaotic but when we checked on him we found him like this. Fast asleep on top of a bin half under the table. I don't think he even touched his food.

I'm sorry I don't have a child yet but reading your discussion/question reminded me of the strange places where I fell asleep :) well, I did experience falling asleep while I was on a parade. we stood there for 2 hrs while a program was going on and the speaker was taking too long in his speech so i slept. actually i'm not the only one, most of us were sleeping for almost an hour while standing. And what's amazing is that none of us ever falls or moves while sleeping. I guess we just mastered the art of sleeping while standing. I also experienced sleeping while standing inside the bathroom :)

Oh I remember, I also fell asleep inside a box (the one used for sending packages) and I also slept around 8 to 15 times inside my closet. Haha I must be the strangest sleeper here. So those of you whose children sleeps in strange places, don't worry..it's not that bad :)

I guess these places won't be considered strange after reading your post, but my older two children have fallen asleep in different places. My daughter fell asleep while eating at her high chair. It was so cute we even got pictures. My 2 1/2 year old son fell asleep once behind his door to where we couldn't open it but about 6 inches and he also fell asleep in his closet. His closet is pretty big and he said he wqanted to take a nap in it. I didn't expect him to stay in and actually fall asleep, but he did for a full 2 1/2 hours. Again, they aren't really weird places but they are different than what we are used to in this house.

My daughter once fell asleep in the corner of her playroom with one of her big teddy bears on top of her. I think she was about three at the time. Scared me good, I couldn't find her because the teddy bear was hiding her.

I can honestly say, while not a "strange place" as much as it was strange she fell asleep, my oldest fell asleep at a hockey game. Now you have to remember that I scream loud and clear, not to mention all those around us are just as loud. She fell asleep and was literally deaf to it all. I was dying thinking she could even begin to sleep through all of it. She did it though! LOL

My niece once when she was very little fell asleep in the middle of a restaurant. I think she was three at the time. She was in a chair and leaning against the wall and then next thing we knew she was out. In her hand was still the chicken leg she'd been eating. She fell asleep mid bite, like someone threw a switch and turned her off.

My son has fallen asleep in his walker before. With his head right back as if he was trying to go backwards then fell asleep. He was yelling and laughing one minute in down the hallway when i went to check on him as he was quiet and could'nt hear any noise. There he was passed out. I keep all the doors closed and there are not steps so he cant fall over in it. And the other place he has fallen asleep is in the hallway as its carpeted. He loves to lie down and run his hand over it as its a different feel than tiles.

I don't remember which child did this, but one of them would crawl on a pile of dirty laundry and fall asleep. It always was when I was DOING laundry, and they were so sensitive, I couldn't just pick them up and move them. So, laundry had to wait another day! LOL!

My youngest was chucking a major tantrum because she couldnt ride up the slop. If myself or my husband went to help she would scream I can do this so we both sat back and watched her. Next thing you know we are watching her and she is fast asleep laying on her handle bars. We finally got her inside the house bike and all. I was too afraid to move her off her bike for about half an hour because of the tantrum she chucked everytime we went to move her. It was the best afternoon nap she has ever had. I did take a photo and we gave it too her nanna, who had also fallen asleep as a kid on her bike. lol Kids are so funny.

One time when my son was about 8 or 9 we could not find him ANYWHERE!! We looked all over the house and around our yard. We called all the neighbors with kids that he played with and none of them had seen him. We had all the neighbors out looking for him and no one could find him. We were all ready to call th police and I decided that before we did that we should look one more time in the house to be sure. I went into my room and pulled the covers OFF the bed and there he was! He had rolled down between the side of the waterbed mattress and the sideboard! That was about one of the scariest times of my whole life and there he was, sleeping soundly with out a clue of all the commotion he had created!

my girl once fell asleep on this choo-choo train set we had. She has fallen asleep on chairs when she was actually supposed to be doing something. For now, My boy falls asleep just like that. One minute he is yelling his lungs out or having a conversation with someone and the next he is out like a light
