I am using Avast for about a year now and had no problems with viruses. But I'm getting a bit bored with it, so should I switch to AVG? What do you recommend? and What Anti-Virus software are you using?

I have been using avg for the past three years and i don't find any problem with it. I have very limited knowledge about computers or internet so i cannot use any complicated stuffs or new softwares until and unless somebody shows me how to use it. People say AVG is the best for internet security and also not very complicated so i am using that and i don't face any problem till now.

Yeah I know that AVG uses less memory. Avast is a memory hog, it just eats your system resources. This is one of the main reasons that I am considering to switch.

AVG, AVAST, and AVIRA are among of the best free-version antivirus and, actually, it does its jobs pretty well and pretty good. At this point of time, I am using Avira AntiVir Personal Classic Edition. I have been using this one for over a long period of time. Since using this one, I have never had problems at all with regards to the overall quality system performance of my machine. Otherwise, I am very much satisfied with it. It updates regularly and can be scheduled at your most convenient or spare time. It is very light on resources and does not use a lot of memory. Hence, it does not slow down your computer. It deletes and detects rootkis, viruses, worms, trojans, etc. Hope this would help. Have a nice day!

I'd certainly recommend AVG. I've been using it for a few years now and it works well, especially for a free program.
