When it comes to relationships everone seems to think that it takes different combinations of things to make it work. One important thing in my book is honesty, and loyalty. Without that I don't feel there is much of a foundation. So what do you think it takes to make that ultimate relationship last??

i think TRUST will be the best ingredients for a good relationship. when the trust between people are strong enough all of the other feelings will bloom and the relationship will be more intact.
follow by TRUST, CARE, LOVE, UNDERSTANDING and GOD. with this combination. no one will break your relationship.

this is also a great recipe, I guess there are quite a few winning combos, it just depends on the person.

I think the most important things are compassion and understanding for each other and how they think/feel...not trying to change each other but being bendable rather than rigid, being honest with each other AND dont worry about being like others want you to be like...the relationship is YOURS not theirs so what THEY think is best for you..ISNT more often than not ;-)

Along with everything already written, for which I agree.
I have to say the most important thing for me is having something in common. It is hard to get along with someone if you don't have anything in common, interest that are so different that you don't want to talk about the same things, do the same things, eat the same things..etc.
You can be honest, loyal, caring, etc. But, if you don't have any of the same interest, it makes the relationship kind of difficult if you both are wanting to do different things.

that is so true. So often it is easy to forget something as important as that.

I agree with you. Add in chemistry, faith and physical attraction and you have my idea of a perfect match.

Sounds good, I guess when you really think about it it only takes some pretty basic components to make a winning match.

You have to have honesty and loyalty I agree. Chemistry would be good and also compatibility. Also, being able to survive through the good and bad times.
If all that can be done, it can turn out into a good no a great relationship. That's what I believe.
