"We live in an increasingly sophisticated and educated world. It is no longer enough to know what we believe. It is essential to know why we believe it. Believing something doesn't make it true. This is as true of Christianity as of everything else" Know Why You Believe - Paul Little I think it is very important that our faith has a rational foundation. What do you think? p.s. Please disregard last post because there is a typo.

It is VERY important to understand why we believe what we believe. First of all, if we don't understand it, how can we ever explain it to anyone else? Secondly, the Bible warns about blind faith. I see so many people who come to church and never even open their Bible, they just trust that what the preacher says is true. We never know until we search it out for ourselves!

Hi, Thanks for your response. I also think its very important for us to be able to explain why we believe "We don't have full answers to every question but we do possess enough information to have a solid foundation under our faith. Faith in Christianity is based on evidence. Faith in the Christian sense goes beyond reason but not against it.' Paul Little I hope to be able to put up more posts in this category to show that the Christian faith is a reasonable faith.

Faith in Christianity is based on evidence. But, they are not always empirical evidence. For e.g. the resurrection of Christ is an evidence. There are sporadic testimonies. This is a special kind of experience and evidence. But empirical science will not be able to verify it.

It is extreamly important that any Faith must have rational foundation. Benedict XVI talk on Faith and Reason addressed to this issue.
