My son got his first teeth at 9 months. At 14 months, he has only 4 teeth. Some children get teeth later. It has all to do with genetics. Enquiring about this with your parents and in- laws migh help.
In any case there is teething pain when teething erupts, the tips in this article may help.

My baby`s first tooth was when he was 4 months and now that he is 14 months he has 8 teeth. But you know dont worry one of my friends mother-in-law said its better to the baby to have a teeth late than early because it will last longer than the early teeth. So just take care of your baby.

My son got his first tooth at 5.5 months, and then his second 2 days later. He had two more within the next two to three weeks. By nine months old he had his front eight. This week, he's had two more break through. He's 16 months old. If these first molars are anything like the rest of his teeth, he will have the bottom two within another two weeks, bringing his total to 12.

My baby got his two bottom front teeth at four months - they came in fully within a day of each other and two more in the next two months. He's now almost nine months and he's sprouting one of his eyeteeth. Don't worry though because all babies are different. Even kids differ in when they lose their baby teeth and get their adult teeth. And when their wisdom teeth come in.
