Prayers help us humans get closer to God. It helps us gain strenght when we are weak. It helps promote better understanding of ourselves through the Holy Scriptures. But how often do you pray? Do you pray more often when you are in trouble or have problems?

Prayers ... it's with me right from the time I wake up from my bed till I retire to sleep in the night . I feel that I'm troubling God too much with this full-time activity. To my wonder , prayers are going up but alas! blessings are not coming down .

I've been subjected to quite a lot of experimentation from his end . I'm awaiting - when will HE be free to attend to my genuine requests ?

Blessings will only be yours when He is ready at His own free time.

I pray several times daily, just thanking God for all the blessings in my life. I don't know that I pray more when life is harder but my prayer time is longer. I am guilty though of not doing the rosary even though I know I need to. I always get busy with something else and have no excuse.

It is better to do things with an open heart rather than feel obliged to do something that you do not feel like doing. That way you will not feel guilty doing something that otherwise you did not feel like doing. Confused yet?")

When I read your reply in my email yes I was confused. Now that I've reread what I wrote I understand your point.

It is at this moment when I consider Him as a best friend whom I can talk to, share with and tell anything I want since He knows and understands me better than I do. Honestly, I communicate with Him anytime of the day and anywhere I feel to do it whether it will be a personal request, seeking an advice, asking for help or healing, thanking and appreciating for all the blessings He shared. Specifically, I utter a prayer before and after sleeping thanking Him for the wonderful night He gave me. I offer a prayer before meals thanking Him again for the blessings He showered me. I say a little prayer to my loved ones for their continuou guidance and protection so that nothing harm may fall upon them. I even thank Him for the trials that come my way for I know He won't forsake me and help me overcome these. Above all, for He is there always during the bad times and good times.

O f course you praymore when you are in trouble and in need of help. It dates way back to the scriptures. I can honestly say my boys and I do pray daily. For every meal and every night. I wish we did it more and did it better, but right now this works for us. And yes I can admit to praying alot harder and lot more earnestly when I am suffering or in need.

Sometimes we ask ourselves whey life is so hard at times. Such times are challenges for us but through prayers, we express our desire to improve our lives. The only problem is us human beings only know how to ask but lack the will power do make the changes ourselves.

Well I don't really pray in a formal way, like making the sign of the cross, genuflecting or going to church but my form of prayer is different. Whenever I'm in a trip, I always think about the Lord and talk to him about my concerns as if I was talking to an imaginary friend.. Not just my problems, but also my agendas for the day and EVERYTHING like my new crush, if my outfit is okay, everything... Just like a very close friend. And whenever I have so many things to say, I always wanted to write about it and address it to the Lord. Actually, I have a journal and I address my entries to the Lord.. and at the end of my every entries, I always write my affirmative statements, which came from the stories of the Bible.

Prayers do not need to be formal. Just the thought of communicating with GOD is enough...putting your heart at it and feeling his presence inside you is what is most important. Deal with your problems and God will know how best to treat them. HE alone knows what is best for you at all times thus always Trust in Him .
