Disabled people: ever feel like you're not part of the "real world"?

Esp. people with speech and muscle impairment: Do you find that, although many people are incredibly compassionate, they find it hard to incorporate you into whatever they're doing? Do you often feel isolated and frustrated when you try to interact, and you get little or nor GENUINE response? I have a speech disability, and I think this topic deserves some discussion. Any thoughts?

Yes i do, i also have a speach problem, im only 16 and find it really hard growing up because of this, i cant do anything anyone else my age does.
if i talk i have to replace words with other word, or make myself look stupid just to avoid the embaressment and hurt, i feel very isolated because i feel physicly sick at the thought of haveing to speak infront of people so i just stay on my computor all day, msn and things like that have became my best friends because i can be myself, and people actually like THE REAL me.
