How would you get your crushes' attention?

I have a crush on someone who is successful and comes from a well to do family. I am a widow from America. He lives in England. I am hoping to move to the UK in the next 2 or 3 years (gotta save up some money for the move :) ). I come from a working class family and am a hard working person. How hard is it for people to cross the class lines in England? Should I try and go for it or just not even try?
