I didn't know my blood type until I donated blood for the first time.
I've now got a donor card that I keep on me which has my name, blood group and the UK national blood bank details of my general history.
Good to have... I also found out the other month that I'm now officially on the UK bone marrow registry.
I'm O Positive, nice an common hehe! But I apparently have high levels of red blood cells which is not so common so they use my blood in the neonatal units... or so I was told last time I attended a donor session...

The last time I had to get bloodwork done anyway, I asked my doctor to check my bloodtype, and he told me that I'm A-Positive.

Yes, I do. Mine is B+, and I found out when I was pregnant with my son. If you want to find out your own type, it's a very simple test that any doctor or lab can do; they just need a few drops of blood, like you might use for a glucose test. You can also get them online for only a few dollars, and you may be able to get them at a pharmacy/chemist.

I didn't know mine up until a few years ago. I found out while at the hospital in the emergency room. My blood type is A+. It really is a good idea to know your blood type.

My blood type is O+. So is my husband's and my son's, so it will be easy for us to remember. My husband's military ID has his blood type on it, and I have a card that they gave me while I was pregnant with my son. My son is still just a baby, so he doesn't really need a card yet.

I am O+, and I advice you to know your blood type because you'll never know when you'll need it...

Luckily, being in the military we get our blood type checked when we join up, it is then stamped on our "dog tags" in case we need it quickly!!!!!!
Hopefully will never need the use of donor blood, have been lucky so far, but I do give blood at the Blood Donor Roadshow that comes around every 6 months, it's like a little personal insurance policy.

I know that I am O+ . I have always known this, I remember my mom telling us this all the time for some odd reason :) But I also remember pricking my finger in 7th grade and testing my blood to see what type it was (do they still allow that in schools?)
My husband does not know his blood type, and we don't know our son's blood type. Which kind of scares me, what if he was in an accident and someone asked me his type, and I wouldn't know. Are there really quick tests they can do to find out?
I know this sounds silly, but if I were to ask our family doctor what my son's blood type is... I feel like I'm like one of those women on Jerry Springer! Haha... trust me, not that there is a doubt who the father is, but since his dad doesn't know his own blood type... I know totally weird thinking on my part!

To be honest i don't know my blood type. When i was pregnant the doctor asked me, if i know my blood type but i said no. They got it checked but later on i never bothered to remember it.
