When I was a kid, my ambition is to become a teacher as my mother inspired me. She is a teacher. And she takes tution for the students in home too. Sometimes, when my mother is not there in home or if she not feels well, then I will be the tutor for them( lower class). After completion of my 10th class, I went to my mother's school as a tutor for part time job. But I thought that it should need more more patience. Initially my aim is to become a teacher but now, when I went as tutor, then I felt it doesnt suit me well as I dont have patience. And now I am in software field. Doing good..... Going well.....

definitely, patience and self-control can help a lot in being an effective teacher. Other qualities like being competent, compassionate, approachable and a touch of humility will definitely make students want to learn from you.

A good teacher must be well versed with what he is trying to give away by way of teaching. He should in particular be sincere 'devoted and above all dedicated to his profession.

I think a teacher should be caring, understanding and should have reasonable knowledge of the topic and last not the lesat should be friendly and decently humorous to keep the students awake in the class.

hi sreenivas i have no clue about teaching but i am related to this i am a student. i think i would love to have a teacher who has tremendous patience. as i feel teaching can take a lot out of a teacher and u need to be patient in order to receive the reword. the second think i would like to have if i was i teacher is that i would definitely like to know a thing or two about my students. now days some teachers refuse to teach children who struggle to learn quickly. they only prefer to teach children who get 90% or greater. i never like these habits its not that i dont score 90% marks. there is a saying never save a man if u dont know swing. i believe the person who can make a sinking ship win the race is a real teacher rather than teacher who wishes to get on a well balanced ship and gets him self to the finish line with the help of the ship. dont misunderstand me but this is what i feel. u are the teacher and i am the student, i think i can learn something from u.

I am a teacher and I find it not easy to be a good teacher. The most important quality of a good teacher is the ability of making the students interested in the subject. He should be able to make his students want to learn and get interested. That demangs knowledge, patience and varieties of abilities.

I am a teacher. I do believe, as a practicing teacher I still consider myself to be an inefficient one. I am impatient and I feel at times that I am incompetent, I still depend on books and I still don't have the mastery of my field. As a teacher, I do believe that one should be knowledgeable enough with his/her field. He/she should be effective and efficient as well. He/she should not only aim at teaching the students the subject matter but other important virtues and values as well. A teacher must be a good example and should serve as an inspiration. He/she should be patient enough in dealing with students but not the point of spoon feeding them. He/she should have the strategy that should somehow work for different types of students-slow learner, fast learner, uninterested, etc... A teacher's role for me is very much critical for the total development of the child.

Definitely lots of patience, I agree!:) One of the things I wanted to become fresh out of college was to get a teaching job. Not right away though, but I wanted to teach probably 2 to 3 years from the day I graduated. I told myself I wanted to have some experience first before I teach so I could tell something from the outside world to my future students. But alas, that dream remains to be a dream to this day. It is still there but I don't see it in the near future yet. So I guess, I am practicing patience,LOL!

i believe that a teacher must be devoted and committed to his/her profession... everything else follows... it is also important a teacher should be passionate about all the activities he/she initiates so that he/she could easily encourage students to be at their best at all times.
