Hi, sabwinner.
So long time no see. Welcome back.
Honestly speaking, I always check their profile before approving. It'll make me know better of them, I think. If people send their request to you, I think that it shows they want to try to know you and be your friends to some extent. So I almost approve them all. After all, more friends do no harm to you. :)
Whether approve them or not, it's up to you. We both have our own right here. No one can replace you. Just my own opinion.
Have a nice day! :)

Hello, sabwinner,i always receive friend requests,i will not say i approve 100% friend requests but i will not deny people,i will put the request on hold if i find out that member is a spammer,if not,i will approve them straigt away, but the problem is i do not always check the friend request section, may be i will miss out some requests since they have been accumulated days by days.I may not get much time to check it.

Whenever i get new friend requests i first check their profiles and then approve almost all the time. Except rarely when a mylotian is not at all active on mylot and is only interested in making friends without responding to discussions. Or when i don't like their interests as they would crop up my friend discussions which i most of times respond.
Though i will repeat i approve most of friend requests as i would have more discussions to respond to and more chances that some of my friends might respond to my discussion too.

Sab, I would normally see the profile, and the discussion started by that particular member, before accepting a request. Normally, I accept everyone....but choice is yours...is you feel that profile of the member is as per your choice and tastes and interests and you can participate in his/her discussions and vice versa...then you many go ahead.

Oh dear, I'm worried that I'm going to sound mean now, but I do not approve every friend request. I actually make a real effort to respond to my friends' discussions, so I know that if I have too many friends, there will be no way for me to keep up with things. As a result, I look over the type of discussions the person responds to and posts before I approve or deny. I figure that if we have some stuff in common, I will aprrove them. If not, than I'm afraid I will sometimes deny the request.

If I were you, I would choose to approve all of them. As they are glad to make friends with you, why should you turn them down. To have more friends in mylot will do you no harm and you don't have to care about things like what kind of people they are or with what purpose they want to make friends with you as we usually do in real life.

I don't have any special criteria in selecting my mylot friends. I simply accept a friend request. Later if I find that friend a potential one I will turn on the alert for that friend,

I just wouldn't deny or disapprove any of the friends' request . After all, we are here in this great FORUM to be friendly with all ...hence no question of declining any request . be happy lol .

I personally go and check out the member profile, browse through their comments, posts and interest to see whether or not we actually have something in common.
The main reason why I do this is because I have had a few people who just wanted to get me to their blogs, or to sign up under at some sights through their referral links.

I'm one of those people who doesn't accept all of the friends that request me. I'd like to be able to respond to all of my friends, at least occasionally, and if I have too many friends, that will be impossible. So I choose the ones that I think will be most likely to post interesting discussions that I will want to respond to.
