Does anyone out there not plan to have children?

I'm happily married for a year now and my husband and I are in our early thirties. My husband wants children. I don't.
Before anyone says anything, I'm not selfish...I actually do child advocacy work. I love children. I'm just am not sure I could handle being a mother.
I ahve a disability and I fear it will be passed on. I don't want my child to suffer as I did. My parents didn't know that I could get it, so I don't blame them. I fear if I had a child and he or she got my disability, they would blame me.
Also, due to this "handicap" I cna't get insureance anywhere unless I pay double. I have to take a medicine that costs hundreds a month just to keep me alive. I've been told it takes sacrifice. With what? We don't have anything to sacrifice. Our money goes to rent and medical bills. I use the internet for working at home. My one luxury is cable. That's it.
I fear we don't make enough and never will. Plus, my husband works day and night at his job...he's a workaholic. So am I. I have up to 6 jobs at home. We have to work this way just to be able to make a decent ends meet and have money leftowver in the bank every month.
I'm afraid no mmatter how much we'd like to, children may never be in the cards for us.

I never want children. Neither does my long term boyfriend. For those people out there who feel the urge and feel their 'biological clocks' are ticking to let them know it's time, that's wonderful, but I don't feel that having children is going to improve, complete or make me any happier than I already am.
And I am selfish, too! :)
