Yes, of course. But I often say 'Goood morning ' to my colleagues. And I often say'do you have breakfast?' to people who I see around. I'm from China, in our country most familiar people say' do you have breakfast' instead of'good morning'. This is a traditional custom. But it is also mean hello, or good morning. But in some formal sites, we often say 'good morning', 'good afternoon' and 'good evening'. Where are you from? Saying 'good morning' is your country traditional custom?

It's a very good thing for the people around you that you are so cheery in the mornings. I'm sure it brightens their day. As for me, I have to be up for at least an hour before I can even THINK the words 'good morning'. I am not a morning person, so it takes a while before I feel sociable after waking up. I have always said that the words "good" and "morning" do not go together for people like me. LOL Now after I've had my wake up and my morning coffee, it's a whole different story. LOL

Usually when I get up no one is already awake so I will face the mirror and like you I will say goodmorning to my self. My daughters who woke up I greeted them with their breakfast is already ready for school.

It's really a great feeling when you greeted someone as you start your day. After i woke up,the first thing i'm doing is to pray and say "Good Morning Dear God". Walk down the stairs and say good morning to all including myself..hehehe

Well since I am usually alone in the morning besides seeing my cats, i don't really say good morning. It's sounds like a good idea to start saying it to myself. After all, I want to have a good morning not a bad one right? I remember when i used to work customer service we would have meetings on how we should always smile and say good morning to the customers. It puts them in a good mood and makes them feel welcome. The team leader continued to say that if one of us were in a bad mood one day and didn't feel as if it WERE a good morning, that we should just say or respond with "Morning" instead. It's 10:40 am here in Chicago. So GOOD MORNING everyone! :-)

I say good morning as a common courtesy. Every morning that I'm alive is a good morning.
