Hello ESKARENA1, I am a bit skeptical about hautings story. I have watch on tv about people experience true hauntings stories. From the story I come to know that there are evil spirits that dont like human to live in the house. The spirit will scared the occupants so that they will leave the house. I also know from watching the tv program that there are spirits who try to communicate with the human to seek help.

IN 40 years of experiencing a variety of psychic phenomina I have yet to find one that is deliberately trying to scare anyone. Now and again they get angry when they cant get a message but they dont hurt anyone

im afraid the vast majority of stories on tv are fake simply because they are made exciting to draw in an audience

this is an interesting point of view, its maybe why there appears to be so much anger in some of them,

I have not seen proof of this but I have heard many stories of spirits clinging to something that was important to them in life. I do think it is possible for the simple fact that I belive that they are afraid to let go of the pas and of there memories.

Many years ago I used to attend a spiritualist church as a healer (but that's another story). Speaking to the minister there in those early days, it seems that spirits become more attracted to the life-force of a living human being and become earth-bound. What gets attracted to buildings are the phantoms or memories that stone tends to hold, especially where there were strong emotions, like fear or heartache. A good example of stones holding energy are the crystals, which are also capable of transmitting (hence crystal radios). But most stones are capable of holding different energies.
When I lived up in Blackburn, Lancashire, there was mansion house as you entered the town from the south. I can't remember the house-name, but it was very famous for a "white lady" who walked straight across the road, scaring the living daylights out of approaching motorists. She would get half-way across the road and disappear. Many of the drivers swerved to avoid her, some hit her (but obviously went straight through her). I can't remember the exact tale but there was some sort of entanglement with a lover who lived in the house, had gone away to war and never returned, and she would walk to the old garden fence (that was now part of the road) every night looking for him to return. No messages, nothing intelligent, just the re-enactment of this desperation for him to return.
I used to drive down the road a lot going to various clubs to work late at night, always looked, but never saw a thing.
Try sitting in meditation in the room where your lady appears, and just accept anything that comes into your mind without judgement or analysis. You will be surprised with what can come up into consciousness.
Most of what I write on my Zen blog, is a result of my zazen, because if you can still your thoughts, your mind will open. You will then see if it is a spirit or phantom on "auto-pilot". Phantoms usually go with incense and/or cleansing rituals. :-)

I dont know if this will help or not but my daughter and myself were sitting in the lounge room when both of thought we saw an old man with a red outfit walk by. We looked at each other and gasped did you see that. We had only been in our house a month or so. Anyway I was still unpacking boxes when I came to a photo of my grandpa who had never been to my new house as hed pasted away a year and half before we moved. Anyway I found a photo of him at christmas time in a pair of red pyjamas. I showed my daughter and she said yes that what I saw. When my youngest son said that was the man who kissed his head and tucked him. Then blew rasberrys and pulled funny faces. Well I nearly fell over because this is what my grandpa use to do to me before going to bed. So back to the point I think spirits cling to certain people as well. I hope this helps.

yes i too think that spirit indeed cling to people too but the person has to be ready to see spirit, open to it so to speak, for this to work. Anyone so scared of seeing spirit will never see them

hey girl...I too believe that they cling to certain placces and people. If you want to be rid of a spirit, burning some sage and lighting a white candle usually does the trick by creating a aura of protection, but in your case with the little old lady, I still keep seeing someone from your past, perhaps and old teacher, and aunt or something, perhaps just a lady that you once befriended...she is trying to get you to listen to her, so sit quietly, and concentrate on her and dispell everything else around you, no phone,s tv. etc...she will get you to hear her them...good luck and god be with you!
