Unexpected Surpise

Suprise Tulips - This is what I unexpectedly saw while driving along.

I drive on the same road every day to go to work. I had thought that I had seen everything that there was to see. Although the scenery is beautful in every season here in Prince Edward Island you come to take it for granted. But last week I happened to glace to my right and lo and behold I saw a wonderul, colourful sight before my eyes. A whole field planted with tulips. As a backdrop to a newly plowed field in it's red clayed glory, the tulips took on a glow and I imagined I could smell their perfume on the gentle breeze. Now my drive finds me alert to new sights and that makes my mornings more alive.

I've seen a field similar to that. I think I was in Pennsylvania. But I know what you mean about how beautiful it is to see. Of course it doesn't have the red clay like in PEI, but still nice.

Thoses are beatiful fields with the tulips planted in them. We do get in the habit of not seeing our surroundings especially when we are the driver. we are paying attention to where we are going and the traffic so we miss sme beautiful scenery out there. I used to take the time to stop and check on the wild flowers as I drove along. but driving on the interstate it's not safe to do that. Down here wheere I live the roads have nothing but pine tree to look at as you drive along.

well, I guess in a lot of ways that is a good thing because it's safer to pay attention to the road.. but a nice surprise is good once in a while... *note* I realised after I posted it that title had surprise spelled wrong.. sorry

How beautiful!! What a wonderful thing to happen upon, too! I've only had that experience once, myself, and it was a similar situation -- a drive that I took regularly (to visit a relative, in my case) and I came upon a field of sunflowers! I think they were growing them for production, of course, and not just the beauty of the flowers but BOY that was stunning. I was so sorry I didn't have a camera and it was before the days of cell phone cameras! By the way, I've always heard PEI is picturesque and that the folks there are really nice so I hope I get to visit someday. We've always had the Maritime provinces in our plan -- but you know what they say about plans! LOL Thanks for sharing your photo! :)

I really love the photo of the field of tulips. Such beauty, and row upon row of them too. What a variety of colours! I've never visited PEI, but would like to go east one day. I've been told, and have seen via t.v. etc. how lovely it is. I've always wanted to see 'Green Gables.' Have a great day.:)

Wow, I'd love to see a field full of blooming tulips. I have been on many driving trips overseas, but because I usually have to go to these places only in summer or winter, I have little chance of coming across such scenes. I would also love to see fields of sunflowers, and flower gardens in full bloom. I shall keep my fingers crossed that one day, I shall get the chance.
