I've seen a fight on the bus and no one stepped in to stop it even the bus driver didn't do anything. It was between two girls. No one even called the cops.I think everyone on the bus was too scared to do anything including me.Have we all become to passive in the things we see.

Yes, yes, yes, I would most definitely help, and I have before. I'm one of those fortunate ones who do not freeze up during an emergency - I act. I've seen crowds gather around accidents before emergency personnel arrived and they do nothing! It's very, very sad.
We must use caution when helping to not put ourselves at risk for harm. Often, because a risk may very well exist, we really can't do anything to help. But if it's possible, yes, we should all help each other.
And yes, we have become a very passive, desensitized society. When I was little, in the 60s, when we heard about someone in America getting killed, we were shocked!! The horror was just too much! The adults in my family would send us children out of the room if they knew such a story would be on the evening news. In fact, during the Vietnam War when I became old enough to understand what killing and wounding was, my mom never watched the news with me in the room! Now, our kids sit right next to us as the evening news talks about serial killers, rapists, child abductions...yes, I feel we are all guilty on some level of a measure of passiveness and desensitization.
