Just looking for some fellow preemie moms out there. If you are a preemie mom, when was your baby due, and how long did they stay in the NICU?
I'm a mom to a former 26 weeker, stayed in hospital/NICU for 6 months.
Now he is a happy one year old, with some health issues, but doing really well!

My son was born a preemie at 26 weeks, 3 days. He stayed in the NICU for three months. He is now 4 years old and his only health problem is asthma, which the doctors say he will grow out of. He is still small for his age but catching up. My concerns now are with his development as preemies are more susceptible to learning disabilities. He has started kindergarten now so we will see. Glad to hear your little one is doing well.

My little guy was in the NICU for 3 months, and then transferred to a pediatric hospital for another 3 months and then finally home. His complications was when it came to be extubated. he developed scar tissue in his throat (they think) which caused him to need a tracheostomy. This spring, he should be having it removed. So far his learning has been pretty much on track, but slower in the motivation department (like crawling and walking) since he is on alot of machines. He is mostly off of them now though.
