Do you know any families that are set up like Reba's character?

This concept is very foreign to me in that my parents stayed married (31 years) until my father's passing. My grandparents stayed married for almost 40 years before my grandfather passed away. Do you know of a family where the parents are divorced, and one parent remarried and the new spouse thinks she/he and the ex-wife/husband should be best friends? I understand being civil with one another for the sake of the kids and for the harmony in the family; but BEST FRIENDS? I'm very interested to know...

Actually, my family is very close to this situation. My parents divorced, my dad remarried, and we do a lot of stuff otgether with my dad, my stepmom, and their son. My mom and stepmom actually get along really well

Funny you should ask this because I had a boss that was best friends with her ex-husband. He had remarried and she really doesn't like the new wife but they spend holidays together and they do everything but sleep together. LOL It is really a strange situation.
