It must be nice to be able to bend the law to serve you better.
Paris is at home with an electronic bracelet...Wow..poor thing. There seem to be laws for those that hve money and laws for those that don't!.I wonder how many people having done less are in jail today? If she is that ill she should be in the jail infirmery!
Do you think this is fair?

Yes. It must be nice. Celebrities tend to be able to bend and break the rules more than normal people. I think people with money buy their way out of things and they still come out smelling like a rose or even better. I don't think it is fair at all. Martha Stewart, for example, is still making a good living and still has lots of viewers after she done what she done. It is messed up.

It must be nice. I think it is rediculous how easy celebrities get off the hook. Money surely talks. they have alot of amenities and they act like it is really bad there.

I am not sure what the laws are in other states but I can tell you here there are many people under house arrest like Paris. They wear the little ankle braclets and they can't leave the house. This is done here because of the cost of keeping people in jail and the fact that they have limited space. She won't be able to leave because there will be so many reporters out there that not only would the ankle thing go off but so will the cameras. Now if she does leave then she should be in jail for a long time but I have heard this all over the news and keep thinking is my state the only state that does house arrest?

The point is that they gave her 45 day then let her go home.I'm sure it won't be exactly terrible at her house with people to wait on her and all that.If they were going to let her be on house arrest they should have done it in the first place.

I'm in Tx. In fact, in N. Tx(DFW region) and they have house arrest here. The difference is, had she been sentenced here, she would have served 40 days and been put on house arrest at day 41.
The reason people are talking is b/c she served what a few days? Why bother w/ a trial if this was going to be the outcome? She can't be all that sick. There are people that are in jail whom have done far worse and whom are at the same time sicker than she is..... In the end, all this does is waste the courts time, resources, etc. Therefore, placing her on house arrest is counterproductive to saving money.
She's been tried and convicted, now she should serve her time. How much more time and money will be spent on this girl b/c frankly I'm tired of her being in the news.

Oh - ick! Must be nice to have money and being able to bend the rules. If it was you or I, we'd still be in jail! No I don't think it's fair!
I agree with Gardengerty - I wish Paris, Britney and Lindsey would just go away. I am so sick of hearing them on the news.

She should NOT have been put on house arrest, she should have finished her out her time in jail. She was arrest for drinking & driving and when her license was suspended she violated that by driving without a license and her headlights were off too (liked she really cared). This is why she was sent to jail. She committed more that one crime here. She can afford a driver and/or a taxi when she wants to go out drinking but she would prefer to drive drunk just to show off her Bentley, that's what it boils down to. We all know it is a crime to drink and drive so she can't plead ignorance and then to ignore her suspended license, this is just being a spoiled brat now! Call it what it is!!!

It seems really unfair. I know this sounds a little weird but I feel sorry for her, what a warped world she lives in, her head must be completely done in and screwed out. Some day she's going to crash- this is the time to stop it from happening and she's being sent home instead of being taught a valuable lesson. If I were her mother I wouldn't have let them release her till she understood the consequences of her actions.

I agree!
Our son Caleb was out of control and when he did something wrong the cops would have released him in out custody but I said no..He spent 3 days in jail and when he came back he had learned a valueable lesson. That was his turn around spot.He is doing so much better now.

Of course it is not fair. I often wonder who is in charge here? Does she have "bling" on her bracelet, as well. I cannot think of any more to say about this, except that I wish Paris, and Brittney, and Linsay would all go away and grow up.

Somehow I just can't feel sorry for that girl! All out of the blue she gets some "mystery" illness - what a load of tosh. It does seem dreadfully unfair that there is one law for the rich and famous and another for the likes of you and me. She wasn't even in an ordinary prison either - in a wing just for celebrities! Oh man! She wouldn't last 2 seconds with the hardened crims - now that i'd like to see! lol ;)

It's not even 5 days. I think she check in to the jail 11:30 PM Sunday and they count it the whole day. This is just another example of the rich buying their way out of jail. There are thousands of poor people who is stuck and can't get out. What kind of punishment is that staying in your million dollar mansion? Its ridiculous.

this is really stupid - if they had no intention of keeping her there then why bother to waste tax payers money on court. Its not like she was in a real jail either, must be nice to have money, nothing changes one rule for them another for the rest of us.

whoa thats good news.Giving her a sentence without bail was unfair.Celebrities are never sent to prison and why would the judge send paris to jail anyhow? So thats being unfair and the idea of an electronic bracelet is pretty cool. That way she can stay and home and they can monitor her.
I know you're gonna hate me for this,so i conveying my apologies before hand.lol.

I think it is ludicrous that she was able to leave after 5 days - any other prisoner would have had to go to the prison hospital - espescially wwhen the judge said that she was not allowed to have any electronic device fitted instead of jail time. So she will have to stay in her luxury home with people waiting on her hand and foot for 40 days - poor little soul but never mind her favourite designers will probably send round plenty of items for her to choose from - I mean she must surely need a new wardrobe to match her electronic tag! xxx

Wow. really..? that surprise me a lot. sorry but i was smiling when i heard she's going to jail. i don'[t dislike her but sometimes i get annoyed with what i see and heard about her on tv. for me, almost all of it is nonsense. thats why i wanted her to experience AT LEAST 45 days in jail. but wow.. she's out huh with some fancy bracelet. Great. Money.

What can I say. I´m heartbroken, lol. Even my daughter who is still a kid and used to be an unconditional Paris Hilton fan (she likes the way she looks) thinks that the "lady" should be in jail. According to the news on TV, Paris stated that she could have gone to a private jail (I didn´t know this actually exists), but she wanted to be treated like everyone else, lol. In some ways the media is too blame, why on earth do we have to hear about this on the national news. There are surely more important things happening in this world.
Poor little mite, she now has to wear a bracelet and stay in her modest, little hut for a while. I´m just sick and tired of hearing about P.H., Naomi Topmodel condemned to clean up the streets, etc. They should get the same punishment as everyone else and a lot less publicity.

I was totally disgusted by this! I saw a clip of a guy speaking out against this and he stated that crying uncontrollably is not a medical illness and there are people in there that are much worse of that really need medical attention. I don't know all the details but this is so unfair! I can't see putting her on house arrest just because she was scared to be locked up with others. I think they should set an example with her instead. She's due back in court. I hope the media goes after the judge as well. She's nothing but a spoiled brat!

I don't it's fair that Paris got what I consider special treatment. If it was anyone else it wouldn't matter if we got sick or anything. It's completely wrong and teaches the wrong thing. How will she learn...

I know a lot of people wouldn't agree with me on this one, but the initial sentence was actually not warranted. Most people who violate their probation and are first time offenders don't get any jail time or, usually they get a few days. This judge imposed a forty day sentence which was way more than most other people would have gotten. Don't get me wrong, she made a mistake and she has to pay, but give her the same sentence as anyone else and don't make an example of her just because you think she's a spoiled brat.
