First off, pay yourself first. Establish a savings account somewhere like ING, that is seperate from your checking account and can't be used for overdraft. Then first thing each paycheck put SOMETHING into savings. Even if its only $5.
Next, "brown bag" your lunch as much as possible. Make your food at home-- I usually make a large batch of Pasta with Red Sauce and ground sausage. May cost almost $10 to make, but I make enough so that I have lunches I can reheat for an entire week.
Sell on Ebay crap that you really don't need or want anymore, and see if someone buys it. I'm cleaning out my closets of old computer parts, VHS tapes and books that somehow some people out there seem to want.
