A real page turner?

Have you read any books that you just can't seem to put down? You say "One more chapter, then I'll go to bed" and before you know it, you've finished it? I love to read after the kids and my husband are in bed (he goes to bed early because he gets up around 3am to go to work). There are times when I've read until 12am or 1am and never even realized it. I love a good romance - not trashy - story and I love the Nicholas Sparks books. Have you read anything lately that you haven't been able to put down?

i have heard so much good comments about the harry potter books. i just find them too thick to read and too many books, too! but since the movie is really good, i wanna read the books one day. i wanna see the difference between the book's story and the movies' story... anne

I have read a zillion books like that . My husband could tell you how many times I have stayed up half the night or night to read a book . I guess I have done the same during the day. I remember reading the book , " Roots " I don't remember how many days it took to read now read in back in 1982 0r 1983 , but I do remember not doing a single bit of house work that day because I was reading instead. I was lucky I even cooked meals that day . I really a lot of romance, and mysteries as well. Most of the authors that I read these days are either contemporary inspiration fiction or historical inspirational fiction. A few of my favorite authors are Karen Kings bury, Karen Ball, Linda Hall, Tracie Peterson, Melody Carlson, Gilbert Morris, Lorie Wick and Beverly Lewis, Dee Henderson , Lauraine Snelling

I like Karen Kingsbury, Lorie Wick and Beverly Lewis too. Liz Curtis Higgs has a great 3 book series "Thorn in my Heart", "Fair As a Rose" and "Whence Came a Prince". They are based on the bible story of Leah & Rachel.

Recently I came across the book "the monk who sold his ferrari" by Robin Sharma and from the start to finish I was unable to keep it down and finished in one go.Though it is philosophical but very interesting and a must read for everyone I feel.

I am that way with just about any book I read. I love to read and once I get started I can't put it down until I am finished. I have been that way all my life. I love any kind of books.

Yes, I do this every time I find a new Chicken Soup For The Soul book! My husband hates when I find a new one, because he hates having the light on after he goes to bed! I know that I bug him, but I just can't help myself! I also know that it is not good to stay up all night and only get a couple of hours of sleep, but it is worth it to me. I really enjoy these books.

i have read three books which i really can't stop reading. i always say to myself that i will just read one more chapter and i will stop. but i can't put down the book unless i am really really sleepy. the three books i've been talking about is Tuesdays With Morrie, The Firm and even The Little Prince. Very worth of my time! I have read Tuesdays With Morrie 3 times and The Little Prince and The Firm twice. I love reading them over and over again. I am at present reading Tim Allen's "i am not really here" book. and it's also a very nice book! ... anne

My passion is John Gresham books. I have got to be about his biggest fan. Of all the authors who write novels about the legal world, he is number one. I am eagerly awaiting more books by him. I also like murder mysteries. Too much probably.

Most books I read are that way. I don't want to put them down and I want to finish them all right then. I usually do as well. I don't like putting it off. I'll sit down and read it all the way through with just a few breaks here and there. I've been known to do an all nighter in order to finish one. The last new book I read was Angels and Demons. It was one that I read all in one day.

I haven't read a book that really did that for me in a long time. I am going to take a look at some of the suggestions here. I've been listening to a lot of audio books lately. Quite pleasurable.

Probably the very last book I read like that was 'The Kite Runner' which I would recommend to anyone to read. It's not only a great novel, but it was such an eye-opening education about what life is really like in the Middle East for those who have to live through all the tyranny. I also really liked 'My Sister's Keeper' by Jodi Piccoult. This is one of her best novels and it is gut wrenching. I love any book that can hold my interest at that level.

I just read a book exactly like that. It is titled "Unlikely Angel" and is a story about the lady in Georgia that was taken hostage by Brian Nichools, a man who shot three people in a courthouse in Atlanta, GA. I found her story to be very interesting and I just couldn't put the book down until I finished it! It was one of the best books that I have ever read and she has plenty to be proud of . She done what she needed to do to get out of the apartment alive and although she didn't take the practical way out, she survived and she talked hin into not hurting her or anymore people. I suggest that you read it.

The last book that I read that I just didn't want to put down was "A Million Little Pieces" and it's sequel "My Friend Leonard" I didn't read them until after the controverey of his truth telling, but regardless of truth or fiction, they were really good. My friend Leonard has a great and unexpected twist at the end. James Frey is just a great writer. Nicholas Sparks is also good. I am usually not much for love stories but I have always enjoyed Nora Roberts.

Yes, 2 books actually. Or rather, 2 authors who keep me reading from page 1 to page 300 or 600 or whatever the book contains in one sitting. One is Dean Koontz. Check him out in your library or store. He writes about supernatural stuff but set in very normal settings that would really make you believe. The other is Valerio Massimo Manfredi, the author of the Alexander series chronicling the life of Alexande
