harry potter v/s lord of the rings

which of the series do you like the most.both of them made heir mark when they were released.breaking all records.i enjoyed harry potter more but i respect tolkien and his lord of rings more because more work has gone into it.and it is more of an epic..
i would liek to have your opinion on this issue..
