Have your children ever hid from you in a store?

My 4 year old daughter will occasionally do that, but after I call her a few times she usually comes out and says "boo!". I tell her (sternly) to please not do that and then she won't do it for awhile. I tell her that I need her with me at all times so I don't get lost. LOL
My niece did this once while we were on a family vacation in Florida. We were in one of those big T-Shirt/Gift Shop places and all of the sudden, we couldn't find her. I stood with my baby and my other niece in their strollers while the other 5 adults ran all over the store and outside yelling for her and calling for her for all but 10 minutes. Everyone was in a panic. After awhile, I turned around and saw two white sneakers sticking out from under a clothing rack, parted the clothes, looked at her and said, "I don't believe you did that!" She was 6 at the time. I called everyone back and can you believe that no one yelled at her, nobody scolded her or told her that she is to come when called, and she never said she was sorry. She said she was just mad because she couldn't have the dress she wanted. If she was my daughter, I would have been thankful to have found her, but she definitely would have gotten punished - she was old enough to know better.

That is too funny! Hey, at least your husband goes shopping with you. Mine hates to shop! I'm lucky if I get him out to do Christmas shopping.

My oldest son, who is soon four, used to do this, but fortunately he no longer does. Once I even had to chase him back into the stock room of a huge department store, but fortunately no one noticed it.
It seems as if he has finally grown out of it, so there is hope out there. I know how scary it can be. Good luck!
