Missing my sweet Lacey

I miss her terribly. I just recently had to put my golden retriever to sleep. She was 10 years old so she had lived a good life. She had started limping on a friday. On monday, we took her to our vet who exrayed her front shoulder and discovered the shoulder was consumed with bone cancer. He gave us tons of pain medication, but it did very little, if nothing for her pain. I couldn't stand to see her in so much pain, so... we did the best thing we could for her. I also have a three year old golden that I found as a stray. They had bonded so much, that now the pup (Lisa) is very depressed. She has a doggie pillow that she lays on and sucks the corner of it like she is a nursing puppy, all the while she whines. It breaks my heart when she does that. She won't go outside without us. It's been about three weeks now. I have been told that goldens pine over lost doggie friends, and that it will pass. I hope Lisa is feeling better soon. I still ache when I think of how sweet our Lacey was, and how much I miss her. So, I can imagine that Lisa is heartbroken as well.
