Have you ever read a book that was written in conjunction with a TV show?

I was at a book store yesterday when I saw a book written by the Roloff family, who has a reality type television show called "Little People Big World" on TLC. I would have liked to have read it, but didn't have the money so I didn't even read the book jacket.
But I've seen books come out of TV shows like a Trading Spaces book by one time host Paige. Also, I believe the soap opera Passions released a rather long companion book to the show. And I know when 'Alias' books came out a few years ago, my sister bought them all. So I was wondering if you have ever bought a book because it goes with a person on a TV show, because it is a companion to the show, or because it is fiction based on the TV show.
Hope I didn't confuse anyone. I'd love to hear your answers!

I've read a few actually. The first one was "Robin's Diary". It was based off the relationship on General Hospital of Robin and Stone. It's a great story and one I'd recommend even if you aren't a fan of General Hospital. It was well done.
Another was one of the Star Trek books. Dealt with after the seventh movie. It was quite good and William Shatner helped write it. The last one was an Angel book, based off the Angel series. That one the author did a fantastic job of writing the book. My niece has one here for one off the Buffy series but haven't red it yet.

I never knew they did 'Angel' books. I saw fan magazines, but I didn't know they had more. I use to watch GH but I joined it after the Robin/Stone story. It's a good thing too because I've seen the flashbacks and I would have cried a lot!

Check the dollar store for the Angel and Buffy books. That's where we have found them.
THe Robin/Stone story was fantastic and well done. It was a tear jerker time but it was well handled by the writers. If you get a chance read the book, it starts out with when they first met. It's all done in diary format from Robin's point of veiw. It's one though that shows how AIDS can really hit people.

there are a lot of books I read that went with a tv shows. there was csi, sci:miami, star trek, star wars etc. I love them but sometimes i don't like the way they change an idea in a tv show to suit their needs for a book. for instance,I love star trek and in one of their episodes it delt with a race called the horta that hatched every 50,000 years but them an author turned around and brought them back in one of his books.I hate that. I wish they would stick to the premise of the show

I read the first two Dexter books, on which the series based. The third book is coming out in September. I can't wait. The books were so good I read them in a couple of days. The series is close to the books, but some of the characters are changed a bit.

Hello ambie. I haven't come across a book that was used as a basis for TV show. I only knows of movies shown particularly books written by popular authors. There are a lot of local soap operas shown in TV and I heard everything was written by local authors here. Did I answer your questions correctly, LOL!
