In addition to creation and history, the evidence of God can be seen in the lives of people today.
Earnest Gordon in his book "Through the Valley of Kwai" being held as a prisoner during World War II in Thailand. The prisoners were reduced to almost animals; stealing food from one another and informed on each other to gain favors from the Japanese. Two of the men decided to organize bible reading. At first, the numbers were small, but then it grew to hundreds. When reading the bible, they realised that Jesus went through the same problems as them. The prisoners underwent a change of heart and the prison camp was transformed.
I hope that the above true story inspired you. Now, let us know your story, a story of someone you know or a story you have read that showed the evidence of God.

hmmm.. in my philosophy class, we actually proved that God exists, through debate and philosophical discussion. here goes. quite simple really. i think it was a rival of descartes who stated the argument.
our idea of God is a perfect entity, no beginning no end, merciful, for eternity, etc...
hence, another characteristic of a perfect entity is existence. ie, if you don't exist you ain't perfect.
there you go..

Very interesting. God is perfect and in order to be perfect He must exists.
Thanks for that input.

On the other hand, many others can tell you from their own lives of how they have experienced the presence and love of God.

That there is a creator is something that I don't dispute. But I would not like to tie him up with any particular religion, for religions are man made concepts.
What pleases one, and gives on peace of mind is the religion for that person, but it is not the only one that is the true one. Keep an open mind and accept that what another person believes could also be right.
I would not like to share my miracle in this discussion for the moment, because it was a very personal experience, but I wonder, should I attribute it the God I was brought up to believe in or should I just consider the miracle as that of an omnipresent and omnipotent being that I conceive as the creator and let him free from the shackles of my upbringing?

I guess you might want to find out more about the God that you have been brought up with and other religions in order to decide for yourself what you want to believe.
I was brought up in a Buddhist home and I searched through many religions. I decided to become a Christian because I know no matter how much I try to be good, I can't. After that, I found out other things about Christianity that strengthened my belief. My own experiences in life have also shown me of God's care and love.

again, prove that this was not proof that people get motivation from others.
also, evolution has nothing to do with god.

if one was in a pit, and he had heard a story about another who had climbed out of the pit... that would motivate me..

Ah.. but the prisoners were changed when they started discussing about God and His love for them. Do you think that if there were to read a book about "how men evolved from monkeys" would have obtained the same results?

I prayed that I want to know the truth if my boyfriend was cheating on me. I started praying and I started crying. I was pleading that He would give me a sign. I prayed that I want to know the truth even though it will hurt me so badly. After praying I felt relieved and just 4 days after a lady called me and told me that they have a baby girl that was 7months old already and my boyfriend do not know about it. I felt happy to what I have heard. And I thank God for everything especially that He have heard my prayers. Now, I am free and happy. And I will never be confushed again. :)

Yes, it is good to know that God answers our prayers. He's our Father in heaven and He cares for us.
