Its too bad you don't have your own dog. I've had dogs all my life, but none more loving and companionable than my 2 Jack-a- poos I have now. they're tons of fun-smart- easy to manage in a small space and yard. they are the lights of my life- guess they fill the empty nest. It is amazing though, how much space they can take up in the bed..

I like dogs so yeah.
I don't like big dogs and I don't like ones which bark at people for no reason. Although just my response to your cat discussion I think good owners will prevent dogs from barking nastily.
Kudos,
~Joey

Hello dog lovers! It seems as if a light was turned on inside of me as I read your discussion here. The issue of dogs has a soft spot in my heart. I guess because they're really innocent and they adore you with all gusto. I just love it when my dog meets me every time I arrive home and gives me a very happy wagging. She keeps jumping and howling as she meets me. Sometimes it seems as if she is dancing. Oh, dogs are very lovable. We should all love them. They're so sweet and affectionate. They want to be with you all the time and are really happy to spend time with you. My dog also comes to meet me at my door every time I wake up in the morning. It seems as if she also wants to greet me "Good Morning!" Isn't that sweet?

Dogs (& horses ) are lifetime friends, in fact mine is better than any human friend, sometimes I wish he could talk.
I prefer the German Black Jacket Wolf whom I grew with, breed after another as if I have the same very first one, I give them the same name ( Lord for males & Lady for females ).
Dogs feel you, share and care - if you leave him for a minute He welcomes you back as if you were a victorious back from battle field.
A Dog is someone while a cat is something.

I love dogs and training them.
Dogs need to be shown how to do things many times before they understand. Just like you with math. Sometimes your teacher has to show you five or six times before you get it. But you DO get it!
And so will your dog. Just be patient.

I am a dog lover because I love all animals. Not just dogs. I think they make a great pet because they make great companions, watch dogs..by alerting the owner when someone comes in the yard, and protection (if needed). I had my first dog before I was old enough to remember anything. His name was Hobo. He was the family dog. He was a lab or a lab mix. Because he was almost completely black with some white.

My first dog was the black labrador that is on my property and needing adoption. Had a couple of dogs in my life while young however they were my parents dog and though I was good with animals they were not mine to care for. Pepper is my dog and he was hit a few days before I picked him up and so I had to care for him. We have been best buds and he does love me so. Will miss him when adopted out.

I love most animals including dogs. We got a toy poodle six years ago and we named her Shadow, she's black, which turned out to be a good name for her because if she isn't by my wife's side she is by me.

I love dogs because I'm convinced that they are literally "man's best friend". My parents didn't allow me to have pets, so my first dog came when I had already a familiy of my own. A Saint Bernhard, female, with the opera name of "Winifred Wagner", but as the puppy ressembled so much Winnie the Pooh, always was called Winnie. She was extraordinary loving and caring within the family, cool to strangers, watch dog that once saved a very costly electric generator from being stolen and unreachable object of desire for every male dog in a very wide circle around our house. But from the beginning she adored my husband more than any other family member, and with him she stayed when we separated.
Years afterwards, when my grownup children had left, friends of mine owned a one year old male Saint-Bernhard. If you saw the "Beethoven" dog movie, you can somehow imagine what that means. They couldn't manage him and kept him apart, so the dog grew shy and agressive. At this time I had a house and garden spacious enough so I was ready to receive him. "Emperor Maximilian" entered his new home, unacostumed to courtesy, a veritable rowdy. It took weeks of company, caressing, conversation, and lots of icecream, but Max, as I immediately called him, was the best friend and companion I ever had, humans inlcuded. When age took him away... this was the only time he didn't answer my call.
It is because of those dogs I knew that I appreciate them as invariably loving, grateful, understanding... perhaps after thousands of years in man's company, dogs have learned the good, but not the bad of humans. That's why I love dogs.
