Phil Collins has done so many songs over the years. Not only did he perform with Genesis and then go off on his own he wrote many songs that were used by other artists. I think my favorite is "Another Day in Paradise" for the 90's. It's a beautiful song and the video for it is great as well. I also loved "Separate Lives", which he did for "White Nights". Beautiful song but not as beautiful as "You'll be In My Heart" which one him an Oscar, it's from Disney's "Tarzan". He's done to many for me to have just one favorite. He's a very good artist.

i fully agree with you that phil collins had many great songs that have become all time favorites. we may not recall them all title by title but once we get hold of his album and listen to it, it is definitely soothing music that comes out in the air.

There have been a few times I've heard a song and it's great and I wonder who it is only to find out it was Phil Collins. There for a while on the radio station we listened to at least once an hour they played either one he sang or he wrote. Never failed.

"Against All Odds', is my favorite of those I remember. Of course, "In The Air Tonight" was huge due to the Miami Vice connection, and was good too. Just a bit over played.
Isn't "True Colors" originally a Cyndi Lauper song?

This is one of my favorite albums by phil Collins too. I think it is one of the top ten albums that I have ever heard. He is a very talented artist and I would recommend his music to most people. I do like most of his songs.

I'm not a fan of Phil's solo music, but he's a remarkable man. A child actor, his first group was in the '60s. A fine musician, and first rate vocalist. I will admit to a real fondness for his wonderful vocal performance on one of the greatest love songs of the '60s, "A Groovy Kind of Love".

Oh, it was a British Invasion song; the Mindbenders had a massive hit with it. They'd earlier had alot of success with Wayne Fontana, but he quit. They toured with Herman's Hermits, but struggled after "Groovy Kind".

I like his version of a Groovy Kind of Love better than the original. This is rare for me. I usually like the original better.Or I should say the version I heard first. There are songs where the version I heard first Is the remake. So when I finally hear the original I sometimes like it better but most of the time I don't. Oops! My age is showing.

That song must be "I Can't Dance" from the "We Can't Dance" album.
I must admit I prefer Phil with Genesis.

There were so many. The problem for me is that I get his solo work and Genesis all mixed up.But I do know the 80's wouldn't be as musically great without him.

Against All Odds is beautiful, and I'm not sure if this is Phil Collins or Genesis, but i love the one I think it's called "Something Happened on the way to heaven" when he keeps singing, "How many times can I say I'm sorry?"
One Phil Collins song I really did not like was the one he did for the animated movie (Tarzan?), "You'll be in my heart." I changed my mind on it somewhat, though, when I heard him say in an interview that he wrote it for his children. Then it became more meaningful, although it's still not a favorite for me.

Hi! Phil Collins is not exactly my favorite but I really like his song, "A Groovy Kind of Love". I think the song is very sweet and the melody is heart-rending in a way. The lyrics are simple but whenever I hear the song, I would remember my highschool crush! It starts with, "When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do is take a look at you, then I'm not so blue..." I still would like the hear this song over and over.
Happy myLotting!

I don't have a favorite but I like his voice and his talent with musical instruments is amazing. I loved how he did all the songs in Tarzan (Disney movie), and how he played most of the instruments in them.
Thanks for the comment on my discussion!
