I need help finding the name of a song, or who sings it...

Me, my sisters and my mom used to sing this song all the time, so i know the words...but thats it, it goes...All along the old back road, people would stop to talk at her garden gate, while inside the family cried all through the night, because the old woman had passed away. My mom died Christmas night of 2005, and now me and my sister are going nuts trying to find this song...PLEASE HELP!!!! Thank You!!!

wow..that is such a bummer! lol..i just found it,,and im tellin u i have been at this dang pc for 5 hrs total in the last 2 days !!hahahah!! well im soo happy u found it..and tomorrow im gonna see if i can hear it..have a great weekend! and great Job Jen!

This is for Cloud Kicker.....Thank you very much for the time and effort you put into this for me....I am soooooooooo happy that we were able to find it after all this time. Did you ever get to hear the song? did you like it....not really my type of music in general, just has a whole bunch of great memories that will never be replaced. Thanks again!!!

I am making yours the best response. Because of your idea, i was finally able to find the name and the artist of this song, that i have so many fond memories of...all i can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! Even though you didn't know the song yourself...you gave me the perfect start to finding it...it took about 4 hours of searching, but, someone had left a message on the site you refered me too, telling the name of the song, artist, and the lyrics as they remember them!!!!

CAN U TELLL ME what kind of song it was? what it a country,rock,nursery rhyme type? and was it a male or female? i have been looking for an hour now and i just need more information lol lol lol..it hasnt been anywhere,,thanks..and talk to ya soon!

I am pretty sure it is a country song...that and oldies are all my used to listen to, so i am just assuming, I am positive though, that it is a female singer, and my sister thought my mom had mentioned it was Emmylou Harris but when i searched for her i did not find a song like that. We REALLY, TRULY, appreciate your time and effort you have put into this, Thank you very much!!! ~Jenn=0)
