My daughter asked a guy who works at the mall out for coffee tonight. He kept checking her out and she thought he was cute, so with some coaxing from me and a store clerk lol she approached him. Turns out her Mr. Goodlooking was sending the wrong singles. He was honest though and said, I'm sorry but I have a g/f. She walk away rather embarrassed. I told her not to be. At least she had the confidence to ask him to grab a coffee with her.
She came home, went to the store purchased a bunch of posters and hung celebrities all over her walls.
She is dealing with dating blues. lol

LOL well i'm not out on the prowl since I'm married :) But if I was single then now I probably wouldn't, I can't see me approaching someone with 5 kids in tow ;)
But I did sort of "make the first move" with my hubby. I was braver back then.

It is hard to ask someone for a date. I am currently in a relationship but there are times that I am shy enough to ask my boyfriend for a date. But there are times that I managed to ask him to go out but usually if there's a good movie out.

Well I wouldn't do this now as I'm happily involved and don't date- : ) But yes- I would- If I saw someone who I found attractive- I might go up and casually start up a conversation with them- If they talked back and looked interested- Sure I'd go for it- If they didn't look interested- I wouldn't!

i would try and ask him out. if i'm really confident that he likes me and i would think twice to ask him out for a cup of coffee. they say everything start with a cup of hot coffee. i mean in conversation.

I read the part about your daughter doing this and being turned down, but for a good reason, and I just wanted to send her a congratulations on being so brave! :)
Now to answer your question, yes, I have asked a perfect stranger on a date before, he is now my husband of two years on the 18th! lol
Took everything I had in me to approach him the first time, but it was well worth it!;)
