I'm a J2EE programmer working for a software firm. I have J2EE on my own using books. And I find my knowledge pretty good compared to those who have done courses. So i suggest you learn .net framework using book. There are so many free books available on the web.

In my opinion, both tutors and self study have their own benefits... I suggest you to do both of them... Studying from tutors : You'll get more practical examples on how to this and that, so you'll end up faster in achieving skills to create an application. You'll focus more on the How To than Why... Study by yourself: By studying yourself, you'll be able to obtain the reasons inside the method, you'll be able to think deeper and find out why I should have this for statement, what exactly this method do, and why must i use do while better than while in this situation, etc...

yes i think self study is better option it will make you study in depth, learning from a book is much better than taking classes self studing means to believe in yourself...

I think tutor will be more reliable in this case bcoz as .net is not a simple course so u will be facing lots of probs...So tutor will be there to help u out..and self study will become a BIG prob..4 u afterwards...
